solvang area

we escaped the smokey oc and retreated up to solvang for a little road riding. just fantastic weather and road riding up there. i think we had 15 cars pass us on 2.5 hr ride.
while riding, we dicovered a xc 24hr race in progress.
the course looked fantastic-single track winding through the meadows/vinyards.
so, does anyone know of more xc in solvang, and are there any more xc events up there? we would love to get up there more often - especially for races in that area. i was surprised to find this, because its not on the socalcycling.com event list.

Try RideSB.com.They have a lot of rides listed as well as races in the S.B.,Santa Ynez Valley,and Solvang/Los Olivios area.They also have links to other clubs and organization in that area.Hope this helps.

That race you saw was the 24hrs at Chamberlain Ranch. The course is on private property using parts of the Chamberlain cattle ranch and Firestone vinyards. They also host the Santa Yenz Mountain Bike Classic, May 16-18. Which is part of the NMBS and So-Cal State Series. They have some trail work day where for a few hour of your time you can spend the rest of the day riding on a pretty nice trail system. They usually have a BBQ afterwards too. Here's a link:

looking at an area like solvang, i imagine that there is more to ride then chamberlin ranch and elings park. cant seem to find much on ridesb.com
are the trails there a secret?
