will I have the urge to race a marathon Once in a lifetime is enough for me. I'll stick to racing my bike instead! Ran the Long Beach Marathon with Man blong Gaua (Dan) in 4:55. It was a great day and a great venue. Anyone else out there run?

congrats on finishing the marathon. I was suppose to run it with my bro-n-law [he finished 3:41] but got injured so I ended up doing the bike tour. still had a good time.

I run as part of my cycling training. I don't really enjoy it, but it really does work your legs like crazy.

Congrats on finishing.

I used to do the marathons, but it took to much away from biking and I always missed the weekends when all my buds would be out on the trails and I' d be stuck doing my training. Sometimes I do miss it though.

Didn't help with my cycling at all, in fact I got faster when I quit running..

Congrats on finishing your marathon!

I used to run marathons. It just becomes too much running after awhile, and like Mike said it cuts into riding time on the weekends with friends. I run 1/2 marathons still and find the training doesn't cut into riding.

Congrats on completing the marathon, and it sounds like a great time to me.

The closest I've come to doing one is listening to a co-worker talk about her training.

I'll bow at your feet the next time I see you

Yesterday was my first marathon - an off-the couch commitment made after a few too many beers at Cooks... I just bought running shoes on Wednesday!

It was cool running in to Gene and his buddy, wish I'd known some others were running, too.
4:27 baby!

And much congrats to everyone who made it through.

Feels good to be done, huh?

I agree...half marathons are much more fun! I will stick to those if I feel the urge to run long distance again

Congrats on the finish. I have NO desire to run a marathon but have done 2 halfs. We are starting training again next week for Surf City Half. That's as far as my little legs will go.
Hats off to you for your accomplishment!

A budy had signed up for this where I was signed up for the CORBA fat tire fest, he buddy broke his shoulder early in the week so I pulled wing man duties and knocked it out on my mtn bike! It was longer than the LA bike tour, pretty flat though which was good.
