Default STR DH Racing

I'm just wondering if anyone else would be interested in starting a STR DH team?

I don't want to step on anyone's toes and I'm just thinking out loud here but thought that's what the forum's for...thinking out loud.

I helped start SBF Racing in the beginning (if you ever heard of it) and it turned out to be a boat load of fun and it generated more than a few lifetime friendships. Some of the members here can attest to that. Escpecially that OC group that no one like to talk about, I wont mention any names, Stu, Frank and Steve.

Not looking for anything thats really competition based, just a group that likes to race together. Win or loose it would be all about getting together and having fun and the families always welcome.

I was able to line up a bunch of sponsors in the past and I'm sure I can do it again. No free frames but at least hefty discounts on common components.

looking for some thoughts on the subject.

Thanks as always,

Mott

sounds cool

only problem is most people are on seperate teams.... like the path or incycle
and i think we should all just find a way to get STR logo's on our jerseys or something like that?

That is a valid point. Either way, just looking to see if it's of any interest to our crew here.

i think we should just have an STR downhill team
kinda like the teams bike shops have... but we can all wear our own teams jerseys but we could have something on it saying we are like on the str team or something
im sure we'll think of something

sounds pretty cool, so long as it doesn't interfere with other sponsorships/teams.

I plan on doing some DH races this season. I would be interested in joining a team were the focus is on fun and commaraderie first, winning second. I won't be hitting every race, but I would probably be motivated to do more then originally planned if I was part of a group or team. Set it up....and they will come.

Frank and Stevie have both confirmed that they will be back. Frank states that he will be racing the November Fontana Challenge.

This might be wishful thinking but I expect them both to be there whether they are riding or supporting.

They can both be on separate teams but i know if anyone of us podiums, you can be assured that they will be there clapping.

That being said, they're both bad men, sand baggers and injury fakers. I heard that Frank checked to make sure that there was no one under 64 years of age in the Vet Pro class before he signed up and that Steve has his Xrays photoshopped.

Joking
