Default Scheduling for Toad Festival 2008

Warrior's Society has asked for feedback on when to schedule the 2008 Toad Festival (and traverse, see other thread).

What day would you prefer and why?

    Options:
    1. June 7th (1st Saturday)
    2. June 14th (2nd Saturday)
    3. Other and when/why
Any other feedback on the event would be helpful to them also.

    Thanks!

    The earlier, the better.

I'm weird. I like the heat and I really like that event. One of my favorite rides.

I agree on the earlier, the better--guess I'm not weird

How about swapping the dates for the Toad Festival and the Traverse?

According to Chris Vargas, He wanted the Traverse done earlier so it isn't as hot and since the Toad is a "fun" event and not timed, swapping it from May to June and doing the Traverse in May instead of June, may get more participants in both events. The Traverse this year only had a little more than 100 riders.

I know that part of the reason I didn't want to do the Traverse was due to the timing and heat--of course, the other part was the whole in shape and Pain Divide thing

I hope that if they move The Traverse to May that it does not conflict with the Shares Poker ride or Dreaded Hill climb, cause I wanted to do those rides, but was doing training rides. So many rides and events during spring. Chris talked about moving the something to the fall, but mentioned the rain issue (I hope so ) and the possibility of closure due to fire ( I hope NOT ), etc. I personally think the Traverse would be better in the fall, like in early Nov. The conditions on the Pain Divide would be better, plus it would be a good training ride for the VQ/CC.

Think about how easy this would have been doing it only a month or so after the VQ......after you had trained for VQ, this should seem easier.
