hey roos, 510 shoes OWN.... they're a bit tougher when you have to drop the hammer and pedal, but they stick to your pedals like glue. that is also one of the con's, there is absolutely no float like clipless shoes. if you have to pivot your foot, you have to take your foot off the pedal and step back on it

Like Nam said, they stick to the pedals, and yes, they don't float, but, I've come down some pretty steep and rough stuff with just my toe gripping the pedal. In other words, they work! Retail is $120 on the Rennie model, I scored with a once worn pair (little bit of dirt on the sole) for $90.

I just saw the results and times. Right on Jason! You scored an awesome time!
After my first DH race in 35-39 beginner a couple months ago, it was suggested that I race in expert, so it sounds like you set the bar very high in the expert class (your time is better than most all of the younger age groups, too!). |

Thanks Lee,
After 5 years of racing DH, this is my first win, definitely a good race to win too! I had that "magic" run, where everything went perfectly.

And to think I've been just using Vans for DH for years. Actually, I've been using the SAME pair since about 2000. I guess that explains why they just don't have the traction that they used to. I guess that also shows that I don't or haven't ridden DH much since then, either.
