I was looking at the pics and saw the pic of young Troy. How old is he? That was really cool seeing him out there.

I fell and blame it on the wind. Chelle was right there to assist, later I found out that she is a nurse. After the race I discovered that my helmet had cracked, no wonder I had such a headache for the rest of the ride.

On Main Divide a sweeping downhill turn. I think the wind wouldn't let me turn (properly) and my attempt to correct didn't work. I'm glad that wasn't my head that hit the rocks!!

Thanks for the pix Winston, when I saw you further down on the trail I tried to pose as best as possible! (number 399)

What a great day. I'm completely toast. This is the hardest ride I've ever done but I really enjoyed myself. It was made even better by the large STR group and those that supported us. The Warriors Society did a great job.

Here's a few more pics that I took (well George took a couple with my camera),

Our 0'dark-thirty start.

Dell, George, Matt, Jose at Beeks

Bottom of Silverado Motorway - Thank you Guero for the support!

At the finish - Jose, George, Mario, Sarah sporting mtb legs (thanks for the beer - I was dreaming of one the whole way down Trabuco Creek Road)

I'm still in awe how fast Dell was. I think a doping scandal is brewing

Craig

Nicely done.

I consider Andy aka Rut the ultimate camera ham. He should give classes.

Thanks to Winston for the pics. Very cool. I came into that corner a little hot and only caught sight of him at the last second. I (almost) never mug for the camera, but just looked over for a second to flash a smile...and almost lost the front tire in the soft stuff on the outside. I think we were in perfect unison while yelling "WHOAAAA..."

Had such a good time out there today. I started off just wanting to finish in time, but was fortunate enough to feel strong throughout the course. Didn't set the thing on fire by any means, but surpassed my own expectations, and am feeling really good about that. Congrats to all that participated, hope you had half the fun I did!

Thanks to the WS for the outstanding organization and execution, and all the volunteers for the unbelievable assistance--it's what made it what it was.

Big thanks to guero for the support, and, really, just for showing up. Next year, bubb!

TURNERob, what can I say? The Burner crushed...I was just along for the ride. Thanks, pal.

dell, i think your pic came out the best... you must have been flying through that turn since you're the only one taking it wide and berming it up

craig, WTF was jose doing in that last picture

Thumbs up Nice job!!

Congrats to all you guys and gals!!

Winston, you're the man for getting out there and getting pictures! I think you and I should go ride VQ next year on our BIG bikes!

Nice job Sauce for toughing it out with your sore knee, your one tough little cookie!

Hey Pat, gears next year?
I know, I suck!

Last year little Troy did Blackstar to the Motorway as a Jr. VQ at 8 years old. Did he do the whole CC this year?
If so, that should make him the youngest finisher ever, of that event. He's freakin' amazing!!

Yes. Troy finished the CC and there was a 14 year old that finished the VQ as well. New records all around.
