Just a hint that may not be needed ...

...If using "NoScript" add-on in FF the page will load except for the menu. If that is the case then allowing bluefirepictures.com will show the menu.

Thanks. The menu is a java script file. Its the one thing I hate about my site, but Im not advanced enough yet to do anything about it.

So I finally have some time to reflect on the weekend. Got there around 7:30 Saturday. Rain, rivers, lakes everywhere. Hiked up the hill to shoot XC, it was bad, the whole road was at least 1/4 to 1/2 in of flowing water. Didnt get a real rain break till halfway through the XC Race. Then more rain. Hard to tell from the pictures.

Cleared up nicely for some DH practice, but most of you know that.

Im really unhappy with my 4X pictures, if they arent out
of focous then its bad timing. There were a few good ones. But not as many as I want.

Really cool Saturday DH practice shots.

Here are some of my favorties.(Cropped and colored)

Way to go Justin

Didnt fall off. He kept riding at full speed.

Some of EC doing what he does best.

Cody, for some reason most of your shots werent that great. I probably have the most of you since you race 3 events. I did some editing on one to try to fix it.

Dave got some color love too.

(If your going to buy this picture PM me first)

Some of WingNut

Your 4X one is out of focous. I wouldnt buy it if I was you. (If your planing on buying your DH one you should PM me also)

I did 11 custom colors in all. They are at the link below. Check them out.
http://bluefirepictures.com/gallery.php?gid=1056

Also moved the watermark again, Its just a bit lower this time.

===============================

I have been staring at my computer for almost a day straight. Im going to turn it off for an hour. So if you have any questions or anything just wait a little.

Great job everyone. See you all in 2 weeks, unless your going to bootleg.

So what's up with EC solidly beating Aaron Gwin, and winning super-D AND winning 4X? And having done that trifecta at almost every race this year? I can't fathom.

I'm starting to think this Carter kid might have a future in pro cycling

Damn, had I realized that the rock jump with the downhill transition was the place for photographers, I'd have launched it more than I did. I was in race mode trying to stay low (except still wanting to clear to the lower transition). I should have known - that was actually the most fun section of the course.

Andy,

The link on the left side of the menu for Winter Series #3 is now completely missing. What happened?

I didnt do anything. That's really weird. I haven't done any code editing on the site since December. There shouldn't be any new problems. What operating system and web browser are you using?

It works on my itouch. I'll check on my real computer.

Thanks for the kind words, as for still having it?

Well maybe in 4x at World Cup level, but in the DH i would get smoked.

When i saw the course in Australia last year i discussed the idea of going for Worlds with GT but after reviewing footage of the course i thought with a perfect run the best i could do was just inside or outside of top 10, i didn't think it would be fair to take a spot from a young up and comer to experience Worlds unless i could get on the podium.

With all due respect to our So Cal Series...Fontana doesn't even compare to anything that you would see at World Cup's.

I had this conversation a couple times over the weekend with various people, The skill set is still in place but the desire to go as fast as needed at WC's is more then i am willing to risk at this stage of my career. If you haven't seen a World Cup DH in person you can't believe how steep it is and how fast the riders go through stuff.

I am very content with my career at the World Cup level, I now target event's and race's that are high on the fun factor (Ashland 12 Mile DH, or Mega Avalanche) Fontana for me is a lot of fun...there is a camaraderie amongst the SRC set that i enjoy being a part of, there are always tons of new and young riders looking for encouragement and advice, i like to be there for that. like i said to DenMo & Rog on the weekend....i am just a bike geek, i love being around 2 wheels, it is one of my passion's in life, i was just lucky enough to be able to do it as a job.

Sorry for the Thread Jack, i will do a RR to redeem myself.
