Beginner class was too tough last time, so I'm moving up to Sport

I love the classes, for the Expert Women, the leg marking is EW. Ewww? Really?

Guess that's what the guys will be saying when the see a woman pass them and ride til they puke trying to repass her.

I'm hoping they do something about that short singletrack down to the lake. Waiting in line was not fun... I'm still debating on racing it... pending the course...

It's called racing, if the singletrack bottlenecks get your ass in gear and get to the front beforehand. Some of the best xc race courses in the world have bottlenecks, that's why you see guys killing themselves to be at the front.....again, bike racing.

Unless the race gets less popular, there will be a bottleneck where it funnels from double-track to single-track if you're really fast on the first two laps...it even bottle-necked at the expert level.

1st lap beginner on race 1 and 2 was about a 2-minute wait.
2nd lap beginner on race 1 and 2 I waited about a minute and still sandbagged 3rd in my class on race 2 (race 1 ended up flatting)

If you race sport/expert, you'll have that singletrack entry all to yourself when you're fully gassed on lap 3/4.

Even with a 3-mile fire-road width course to start out in the last 12-hour Temecula race it bottlenecked at the first single-track section. If it peeves you, don't race. Otherwise, suck it up and use the minute pause to regroup and rest like everybody else has to.

The only down side to all of this: We have to wait 5 months to race.

Anybody have any idea what the course is going to be? Near as I can tell from Google Maps, at least part of last years course is now going to be under water...
