Sadly no, yet another wedding to go to. One of these days I'd like to check out 24 @ Moab.

Love this pic of Greg. Hahaha.

Nice pic, Carl! I mean...

Greg will make an excellent 4th Man for the giddy Spice Boys. Better'n me anyways.

I can barely get my shiat together to go to Temecula, mang. Simply put, I just am not a good planner. That's really what it comes down to. I fret for the entire week before heading down to roll in Jason's races. Do I gots the right stuff? Am I prepared? Will it be too cold to sleep in the sleeping bags? What a spazz...

Then Beth up and asked me a few weeks ago, "Are we going to Moab?" Though shaken from my workaday complacency by this seemingly bizarre question coming from my spouse, I did not do anything about it. Willie is ensconced in football (3 nights a week, plus games every Saturday for two months), so it felt wrong to consider doing this and taking him away from that.

Still, I will miss that 4-man team podium finish...

Good Luck on your 5 man team...Doing well will help with the overall points..

For those who don't know, one thing about the MOAB race is it pulls in a million times more people...This race brings everyone from all over the world. Competition is steep! (sport already has more teams than all the teams put together who raced in the Vail Lake race).24hrs of Moab is by far the biggest race endurace or XC that we've ever been to (well after Sea Otter)

With that in mind we consider this race our team season ender and family vacation/celebration if our team results turn out good it's just an added bonus

~ 1 word of advice: The 1st year we went everyone decided to do the slick rock trail the day BEFORE the race. They followed the white dots and they all of the sudden disappeared lets just say the day before a very long 24hrs they were stuck hiking and riding for hrs until they found their way out. These guys were already wiped even before the race started. NOW they wait until after the race to enjoy many of the trails Moab has to offer ~

We'll be there from Thursday on, stop by and see us ~ we always camp about halfway up the road directly above the venue..

See you guys there! We'll be sure and cheer your team on

Thanks yea we don't plan on even podium but it will be fun to be in another granny gear race.

We are def taking it easy chilling and taking pictures on the pre race rides. I agree I def don't want to get burnt the day before a race but after my rest week the week before I'll def wanna spin the legs out before saturday.

I guess it is just finding that happy medium of fun with light effort.

This will be our first trip to Moab and our team is from all over (Maine, Tahoe, Boston, New Hampsire, Socal) we are driving down from Denver thursday am.

any tips on where to camp (we will have a pop-up camper but on the fence as if we should bring a generator) are appreciated

First of all, once you do this race you will be hooked!!!! You'll look forward to it for years to come!

Camping:the race venue is in a huge valley *behind the rocks* (blm land) so once you drive in the dirt road pay your camping fee (bring cash) you'll see where they have marked off sections. Once you come to the venue you can go straight or turn left. Turn left and everything on your right side is generator ALLOWED - bring it! you will much happier if you do! It used to be that if you arrived on thursday you would get your pick of spots - but with the continued growth of this race the *good* spots seem to be taken up earlier. We have had the same spot for years. This year our mechanic is driving from Minnesota and planning on getting there Wed to save room for 4 campers and several tents.

check your pm's your gonna see one from me with several details I wish someone had told me about before our 1st time there.

This will be my first time too. I'm racing with a friend and a bunch of his coworkers from Salt Lake City. Team name, Golden Sacks as they all work for Goldman Sachs. If anyone has useful info, please drop me a pm and give me the lowdown.

I'll have to post some picks of my new bike I'm building for this. It should be finished within a week. I can't wait. . . for my bike to be finished and the event.

We went last year and raced in the Single and Rigid category. We were in the middle of the pack and had a good time.

But, we all pretty much decided that we didn't get as much time to hang out with each other and it cost a lot of money. We were all from different parts of the country, so it was kind of a reunion and we decided we could have the reunion without the race and save some money and spend more time hanging out.

We actually thought about doing it as solo riders so we could do some riding together, but that gets real expensive real quick.

Good luck to everyone who goes.

You could be on to something.

Since the drinking induced snoring from Nam, you and myself basically kicked him out of his own camper the last 24hr race
He's already said come race night he's not sleeping with me (apparently I snor) and he's going to sleep on the bed in the living room
