Went out to pre ride the course this morning (09070
. Overall it wasn't bad. There are a lot more sandy spots than I remember from last year. When the sun is up it's only enough to make say to yourself "oh look, sand", but if your first lap is at night in the dark just keep a look out. It's not too deep, but if your not paying attention it could possibly surprise you. After the first time tent location as you start the single track, there's that good size dip by the oak tree. At the bottom of the dip there is a rut that someone put a foot bridge over. Keep a look out for that. It's no big deal, just know it's there so you don't try to go wide. Just before you go into the meadow (bare with me, I don't remember the names of the trails) there is a big tree laying across the trail. There is new trail going around it. Just FYI. The single track past the fire road at the second time tent is rutted pretty good. Just stay to the sides and ride them high. The next climb after that section looked in pretty good shape and all the single track from there is full speed ahead. This mornings temp was 71 degrees at ride time. Of course it felt like 171 degrees, but thats to be expected. Not much more than that, good luck and see you all in a couple days. ![]()
