Anywho......

did this course today (2 laps) and obviously i was faster than the race last year. Still not where I wanted to be though. And both my laps were within seconds of each other

i chalk that up to the condition of the course and rider today. Both were horrible. It's so sandy, the fireroads were crazy coming down because I nearly crashed by washing out at least 3 times. The singletrack is so overgrown and dead that you can't see 10 yards in front of you at all so i took it slow through there. That place needs some rain and lots of it.

I also need to figure out how to push myself harder, because when i finished I wasn't nearly as tired as when i actually race

No, the disclaimer at the top of the results: they got a little confused keeping track of racers' laps. My class (Expert 30-34) had to figure out our own results.

I realize timing and race results aren't perfect and it's difficult to keep track, yadda, yadda. Just mentioning that they had a problem...and a significant one.

boingboing and i are doing the course some morning this week (right?)

the San Dimas Incycle has a copy of the course. On their site some guy said "it's the same course as last year, but shorter"

I'll be out there riding tomorrow evening, hopefully

I think I am going to try to get 3 laps in sometime Tuesday morning. I've done the course this year but never more than 1 lap at a time so we shall see. Anyone else start dreaming about it? HA!

Has anyone gotten a chance to pick up a map of the course from Incycle yet? If so would it be possible to scan it and pm me?

THANKS!

already told Tara, but there's no map yet at Incycle. They said check online. Online says to get a map at Incycle. This is the same runaround I got last year.

Default Rain

So has anyone raced in the rain? How's that gonna be like (if it does indeed since there's 40-50% chance)?

Racing in rain might be fun! Unfortunately, that section after the first downhill and before the climb to the road really sucks when it's muddy. Full of clay. One day I rode about 2 or 3 days after the last rain and the mud stuck to my tires so bad! My fork crown was shaving it off. It looked like I was riding a Pugsly!

Hoping that doesn't happen till after we finish!

Rode the course last night. I hope you guys like climbing cause theres lots of it. Crossing the grass area twice sucked. Why anyone would mark a race course through the grass doesn't make any sense. Oh well, have fun suffering out there.

As a spectator, where's the best place to park? Across the 57?
In the park?

Please enlighten me.

Mud at Bonelli can be a serious problem. Its not mud, its clay. Sticks to the wheels and needs to get scraped off. Rode in this clay earlier in the year and had to dsimount every 20-30 yards because the clay jammed the wheels to a stop.

Lets hope it doesn't rain.

If you got $6 to park, you can pull your car right up to the grass where it starts. Otherwise it's the Park n Ride outside the park
