Default Reminder: Team Big Bear/ELINGS PARK Race BARBARA, CA 9/27-28

Just a reminder for the next Team Big Bear race at Elings Park. They will be having, XC, Super D, DH and my favorite Dual Slalom racing!!!!

FYI, the DH course is like a giant DS course with some uphill, jumps, lots of berms, etc. I raced Roger's hardtail on it last time. Too much for a full DH rig, IMHO. I will probably race the Foes 4x bike on both!!!!!

What about us mere mortals? Do you think I could do the SuperD with a hard tail?

I will be there for the whole weekend. I'm just racing XC on Sunday. I am interested to see how the Super D works since I still don't know exactly what it is. I may just enter in the Super D for fun.

JUST DO IT! If I can do it, anyone can--though I've never done that course

You can do it on an SS if you're game. I did the race 1 Super D on a 5" travel bike and it was WAY too much. Too much travel and too much weight. A hardtail could actually be just about right. I'm going to be running a 4" XC race bike this time and we'll see how it goes.

I might go but may not race. I don't like DH that has uphill. I'm lazy. lol If I can get into good enough shape by then and have another bike by race day I might do it.

I couldn't find anything on the brochure. I checked the results from the last race there and Beginners where at the 1 hour mark and sport was 1.5-2 hours along with Expert and Pro.

Last race beginners did 2 laps at 4.5 miles each apprx. Sport did 2 laps, but different and longer than the beginners.

Thumbs up Wow!

I may have to kidnap the kid's and head up there for the Super D.
Right now Jake and I are both sitting in 4th place in our classes, and Lacey is sitting in 1st!

Default We'll be there

My wife and I will be there all weekend. Looks like we'll race sd, xc , and dh.
The Xc course will probably be a little diferent than earlier in the year. Last time we started near the DH area. Last year at this race we stared at the softball fields. Other than that the course was the same. About 6 miles with tight turns and alot of switchbacks. Super fun course. But it is a lung burner when racing. Sport riders should do 2 laps with some exps doing 3 and pro men 4. Depending on the weather could be a tough one!

The Super D course is the back side of the XC course. Tight 180 turns and downhill switchbacks which tend to be broken down and a little soft. Suspension out there is over rated. XC and SD can be done easily on a lite hardtail.

The Dh course is really what a Supr D should be. Fast Tight berms small tables and doubles with a couple of little wood drops for good measure. Once again it can be done with an XC bike. My wife will rock a 5.5
Anyways good luck to everyone and we hope to see you out there.

Roger and I will be there doing DH and DS. We will be racing both classes on our 4x/DS bikes. Mine is a Foes 2:1 4x and Roger has a Brodie Holeshot HT.
