Default Camarillo BMX Track

Just some general info the Camarillo bmx track allows MTB's its 5 bucks to practice you just need a helmet pants and long sleeves. Practices are Mondays and Thursdays 530-830pm.

I raced at that track a few weeks ago. The track operators are really cool, and the facility is also really nice (for what it is).

The track is extremely short (750 feet?), and becaue of the size, shape, and spacing, the last whoop section would be challenging on an mtb - it was even tough on a cruiser! Otherwise, I think it's a good track for mtbs.

The faster you go, the more challenging they are, unless you're good enough to jump them. I am not that good!

Same with the Simi track but it might be 10$ now, it's been a while since I have been there.

We used to ride our DH rigs at the Simi track and no matter how fast we went they just soaked 'em up.

I'm pretty sure that practice at Simi is still only $5, including on race nights/days.

I'm not sure when you were at the Simi track the last time, but it's just the opposite of Camarillo - it's freakin' long! Very nice track and facility. Because of it's length and the style of jumps, I don't know if I'd want to ride a DH bike there - that would be extremely exhausting! And you still wouldn't get that much air on those bikes! Simi really is a fun BMX track. It's also a very nice facility with cool track operators.

I should also mention that the locals at both tracks are really cool. I wish I lived closer and could go there more frequently.

I have not ridden there since '05 but I go there about once a month as the Princess will be taking the BMX class there soon. The track has pretty much the same features as it used to but the layout changes from time to time but you can clear most of the tables on a DH bike if you pre-load it just right. The step-up coming out of the first turn is a bit more "beginner" friendly as is the table on the front straight as well as a few other spots but yeah, a couple laps around the track can kick yer arse.

I did end up building a ht for the track back then and would switch off through out the night between the Stab, the Stinky and the ht just so I could get a workout in as well.

The track is significantly longer than before - there are 5 turns now! It was rebuilt a few months ago. Regarding the turn coming out of the first turn, only the top older experts were jumping and clearing that the way it is now. That would be a bit safer on an mtb, I'd think. Most of the jumps are pretty big now, so it's hard to clear much (for me, anyway). You'll note that they ran out of dirt in the 4th straight, so the whoop section is pretty small.
