It's only three weeks after Labor Day, but be prepared for cold. Hopefully, it will be nice, but I have seen it down in the low thrities and windy more than once at this race.

Yeah, I have no idea what to expect. I have never participated in a 24 hour race. That reminds me, does anyone know whether they will have outlets to charge batteries?

There is a charging station setup at the start/finish area.

I am on 5 person relay team, any idea how many laps I can expect to complete? In terms of skill level, on a range from 1 to 5, 1 being beginner and 5 being expert, I imagine our team is a 3.5. Thanks.

Last year winning 5 person team did 26 laps. We finished 5th with 23 laps. So 3 members of my team did 5 laps each and 2 did 4 laps.

Check out the results from last year and you will see:

For a 5 man team you should at least expect 3 laps each. Depending on the physical ability of your team may be more or less. I am doing a corporate team this year with 9 other guys. Where looking at 2 laps each and maybe a third for the top of the line up. More riders = more rest = more fun...

Weather reports mention rain there next Tues and Wed. There are already reports of erosion on the trail due to recent flash floods.

It should be very interesting to see the condition of the course on race day.

This is the first time I've added swimming (to help my body learn to be more efficient with oxygen) and trail jogging (to help prevent leg cramping when I have to hike-a-bike) to my training.

As long as it's not 100+ degrees again, I think I should be happy. I'm certainly less nervous and more excited for this event than I have been for other races in the past. Probably that comes with experience.

It sounds like you are getting some good training in. How challenging is the course? Is there a lot of steep climbs?

Luke ~ if your in a campsite that allows generators - then on race night you CAN run it all night long.

not sure if he runs 5 deep for solo's ~

Dude - on Race night Luke will not be the only team/solo rider with a generator running..TRUST ME That's why when picking your campsite you can choose to reserve a *quiet* site (no generator's allowed in this area)

EDIT: I just looked at the camping sites for this NOV race and they did not offer Quiet Sites Bring your ear plugs

Have fun next weekend everyone!! We're sad to be missing this one!
