Mixing the powder (cookies and cream is really good) with milk tastes really good. Not like a protein shake at all. Its more of a treat than anything else.

I really liked muscle milk. I had the strawberry flavor (really good!) and drank it after I worked out. I never really used it for post-ride recovery though. I stopped using it because it caused me to gain 15lbs. Though im not sure if it was the combination of the shake plus a large dinner after my workouts.

Im thinking about trying protein shakes again but this time im gonna try EvoPro instead. Same protein from muscle milk but less calories.

I tried it at the Sea Otter a few years ago. People were fighting over the Root Beer flavor. I had some. It was worth fighting for.

muscle milk is the best (or one of) in terms of taste, since i became lactose intolerant i haven't really had any shakes (don't like them w/water) but i recently started going to the gym again so i'll be starting the shakes soon

i started with muscle milk about 3 weeks ago(after not using it sense February) and been working out 5 days a week(football practice) and have gained 10lbs(hopefully in muscle ) but i drink muscle milk every day after working out so that's probably why. You can just get the smaller size of premixed bottles so u dont gain as much weight(idk if that'll help at all but thats my story with muscle milk )

If you are worried about total calories try getting the ON (Optimum Nutrition) 100% whey protein it has a way better percent of protein( basically more pure in terms of protein). Muscle milk does taste really good but look at the amount of fat in each serving compared to ON. Also look at how much you will be consuming the on is 1 scoop and muscle milk is 2 scoops, im not too sure how many grams is in each serving. Muscle mile is much better for over night consumption as it has the casian protein in it which is a slow digestion protein.

BTW they make Muscle Milk lite. That might be the ticket for dudes looking to shed their clydesdale status.

I buy 2 tubs when they go on sale at 24hour fitness. The chocolate stuff is great. I don't drink it to often. Just when I do weight training or I go on a epic ride and I know I will be feeling it tomorrow. So for me a tub will last maybe 2 months.

I toss in a serving with mix of half nonfat milk/water a banana (frozen works best) and some ice cubes and it almost taste like a shake made with cheap ice cream.

I used to make a serving for my ex as well and she did not even go work out with me.

Straight protein is a no-no. You need carbs to facilitate the absorption. Muscle Milk is a great product.

I like Muscle Milk also - Lite Vanilla mixed in water & I add the Cytomax Carb powder to it. Good stuff. FYI get a membership at GNC and for the first week of every month members get 20% off anything in the store...so buy it in bulk once a month and you can $ave!

They also say it can be used as a pre-workout shake. I use it before I go for my rides and it seems to help keep my energy level up as I ride.

I might give some of this a shot...I have been doing some weight training at the gym as well as a lot of trail running recently as my ride is out of service at the moment (damn lefty!) I've been using whey protein and eating 1 1/2 cups of oatmeal after my workouts. I'd probably go with a 1/2 serving of the MuscleMilk though.

What do you take for LI? I have been taking Digestive Advantage Lactose Intolerance and it has worked wonders. "Most" milk-based products have no significant adverse effects on my system.

delicious recipe:
1.5-2 scoops muscle milk "chocolate mint chip" flavor, 1 cup of ice, and about a 1/2-3/4 cup of water. throw it all in a magic bullet and bam... best shake ever
