I might be in.

My 25 year high school reunion is that night, and it starts at 7pm. If I plan on missing the dinner part, I could possibly there.

Jake also wants in on it too.

Is this just Super D? No XC? I may be in to try it as well

It's, from what I overheard, the long climb to the fireroad - in reverse!

Very little if any. It really depends on whether they run all the way down the "reverse" climb. It would be interesting if they started up by the cell towers overlooking Arctic Circle.

I actually may be doing this. I kinda wanna do some racing just to see where I'm at with my riding.

Also might make it out there for the XC too, but not sure yet.

i was actually going to head up there and ride summit on my six-incher and i saw this post.

would the super D course these guys usually have be better suited for a 26lb 5 inch class bike or a six inch 36lb 4x style bike?

the other thing is i saw it's a usa cycling event... does that mean i need to drop 60 bucks to join them and 25 for the race???

thanks in advance!

If you race Beginner or Sport, you can purchase a one day license. Expert has to have a yearly license.

Your 5 inch travel bike will be fine. It's gonna be mostly fireroad with some singletrack thrown in.

Like DenMo said, you only have to drop $5 for a one day lic. if your racing Beg or Sport.

And I got an e-mail from Bev. It's gonna be mass start by age catagories. The fireroad right off the bat will thin things out pretty quick.

Gonna be lot's of FUN!

So which bike are you going to ride Darin? Coiler - Stinky? I'm thinking I'm going to use my XC bike (4" Kona King) and see how it goes.

Should be interesting to do the course in reverse for a change.

I'll be riding my Dawg, and Jake will more than likely be riding his CoilAir.

From what Bev & Kerry said, we're starting up at the fireroad, and just heading down the xc course until the bottom of the switchbacks, and then the fireroad the rest of the way to the finish area.

Did you hear something different?
More technical singletrack would be good for this type of race.

After race one, the rumor was that it would start at the fire road and go DOWN the long climb to the Start/Finish area. I only remember this because I was surprised at the route. They would have put that great climb in jeopardy of being torn up from hard braking.

I pre-rode the race 3 course yesterday at pace and after the rains this week, everything is like new again. The switchbacks were in really good shape! Even the far point of the west extension was packed down.
