This is going to be a blast to watch.

I got a chance to ride Mary's bike around a bit last week....it's awesome and designed specifically for this event.

We had a send off party for her last saturday.....she's in a great mental state and has put in loads of miles/preparation for the event. Can't wait to see how she does.

Go Mary!

Matts off the front as expected. Marys setting a nice pace, hopefully she will make tobomore hut and have a good sleep. It will be amusing to watch Alan Goldsmith... word is he will be a strong finisher.

Only a few hours in. Hopefully the troops have had a good days ride and dinner...services in their area closes early and managing food is pretty important.

Wish I was out on the trail.

Is that the Alan that owned Supergo?

Now this is what I call a race.

Matt (OPP) MacAfee did a race like this last year, but I'm not sure if it was this one. I thought it was the Continental Divide ride. Anyways if you stop and think of how difficult this race really is, it'll blow your mind. Think something along the lines of a double VQ most days.

Alan Goldsmith is a brit... don't know if he ever owned supergo... matty Mcfee Did the gdr last year. Hes a great guy with lots of energy.

Yea this ones a tuffie I'm anxious to see how splits for the us setion stack up... like I said matt and alan are quality riders. So to watch pete and the other and then compare splits...

There is an argument about having an extra 220 miles being a hinderance to the record. I don't buy it. The route is the route. Jay P had a wicked ride last year... Ive never met him but he seems like a real bra!

Anyway our local Mary is on route so let all cheer her on. Maybe she can best Trish Stevensons border to border time... either way she (if she finishes) sets the banff to mexico record...

Anyone want to do a canada thru montanta tour on route with me in august?

Cool that y'all have noticed!

Mary's kicking butt out there. Tough stuff but she's making her way through it. As her husband, I've been riding an emotional roller coaster & am very, very inspired & proud of what she's doing.

Here's some good linkage:
Tour Divide blog with transcripts
Mary's blog with audio updates
Tour Divide SPOT page
MTBcast call ins for the racers

Looks like our local girl is going to pull it off!(not that I had any doubts).

She should be finishing around 3am tonight. Send all your positive and excited vibes towards Mexico!

Such an awesome achievement. I can't wait to hear all of her stories in person.

I had the pleasure of riding with Mary for the last few miles of the Idyllwild Spring Challenge this year. She was kind enough to call out trail features and tricky spots since it was my first time at that race. That really helped get me through to the finish since I was hurtin' at that point.

I never got a chance to thank her for the help. Tell her "thanks and great job!" for me will ya?

I just checked out the Divide site. All I can say is; WOW! That's a hell of a long ride.

To all of you who've ridden that, I salute you! Looks like a great time, although I'm fairly sure you have to be a tad hyper-dedicated (which is a nicer way of saying totally bats&^t insane) to enter something like this. But seriously, you have my upmost respect; I doubt I'd ever be able to do something like this.

When do Traverse sign-up begin, anyway? (^_^);;;;
