I may have to drag my ArSS out again to a Warrior's event just to hang with all of you. Novice or itermediate...that's the question huh? The 6 hours of OC at Flying B was great last year! After riding that course, I might just go Novice due to the climbs. Easy hardtail ride with very few downhill bumps. I am glad that I am in another age group than Matt ('kipp) and Steve (dukethenuke), you guys jammed CC!

As I was reading my confirmation email, it says that the Novice Division will only be 1 lap, Intermediate 2 laps and Expert 3 laps....on the original flyer it states that the Novice would be 2 laps, Inter. would be 3 and Expert 4....then it says after rider feedback, the lap amount could change. This is a tad misleading and confusing. If it is only one lap, on a 6-7 mile course, $45.00 seems kind of steep to me.

Mtnbikej, do you have any info on this?

that's pretty expensive for a 6-7 mile race. i hope they'll adjust things for next year, judging from that price, the turnout may not be that high

laps shouls be:
Novice=2
intermediate=3
expert=4

that's makes for a truly competitive and challenging race

FYI:
Practice rides at the trail on 09 April Sunday and 15 April Sat.

Plus they say they will collect feedback and decide on number of laps in each group.

I'll hit up > or = 1 of these runs.

I will mention it to the event directors. Your right 3 sources and they are all a bit different.

We are having our last trail build day for the new singletracks that we built for the Cytomax Spring Classic.

If you would like to come and help out, send me a email mtnbikej@comcast.net and RSVP.

We plan to ride after the work is complete.

Volunteers will also be invited to private preride on April 1.

Thanks for the invite, I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it down this Saturday to assist on the build of the new s/t. If it's looking like I can, I'll drop you a line.

Ok......cleared up the confusion. Just so you all know, I am one of the two course designers out there......who hoo!!!!!

Anyway, we originally thought about using the Warrior Trail DH that we used for our other events, but decided that it needs quite a bit of renovation work so it is not being used as of now. Since the Warrior Trail was quite demanding of our Novice riders, we felt that one lap would be enough.

HOWEVER>>>>>>

Since we are not using the Warrior Trail, the number of laps will be that posted on the event website, applications and Active.com

Novice 2 laps
Interm 3 laps
Expert 4 laps

Hope this clears everything up for you all.

For those of you signed up, look forward to seeing you all out there.

For those of you that have not signed up, shame on you.....JK

Anyway, we will be having 2 technical skills days/preride/practice days for all riders....registered or not on April 9th and April 15th.

Thanks

I will be attending MOST of the pre-rides, April 1st, April 9th, and April 15th, I won't be able to make the one on Friday the 21st though. I know Dale and Aldo are planning on doing the pre-rides as well.

Check it out.....finished the new singletrack yesterday. We ended up building 1.6 miles of new singletrack for the Cytomax Spring Classic. A few spots still need a little bit of tweaking, but all in all the new trails are really fun.

Check out some of the pics:

We will be having two practice days at the Flying B Ranch for the Cytomax
Spring Mountain Bike Classic. The first practice day will be on Sunday,
April 9th and the second practice day will be Saturday, April 15th. There
will be $5.00 entrance fee to enter the Flying B.

Sign up and support XC racing in Orange County.

Default Tech Skills Class?

Anyone RSVP yet for the technical skills class on Sat 01 April 06?
Anyone have any idea how long it will last?

It turns out I may have to work, but could probably arrange things for the afternoon instead of morning so I can attend...

I haven't RSVP'ed yet Lance, I wonder if we will be able to ride the entire course or not. I saw an email yesterday stating that it was not a "practice session, but rather a technical skills clinic for the novice riders who are considering signing up..."

J, do you have any other input on this?

I honestly do not know what Saturday is for. I will be there, probably to lead around the course. I would say come out.

It would be to eeryones benefit to preride the course. There are certain sections that a little tricky until you know where they are.

Plus if anyone wants to hang out afterward, there is still some minor tweeking to be done on the trail.
