I've been talking with people at the local tracks and have been reading comments about the track on BMX message boards, but I've been hearing a lot of negative things about cuttingedge. However, I hear that the cuttingedge track is under new ownership again and many have hopes that the track, including the old gate, will be demolished and rebuilt from scratch. Do you have any knowledge of this? Because I've never been there, I have no knowledge of the track whatsoever.

Also, how many cruiser classes do they get on Saturday? If not classes, how many cruiser riders actually race on Saturdays?

Cutting Edge is indeed under new ownership. It was purchased about a year ago by Answer Racing from Harry (Leary) and Dotty. Under Answer's ownership, the track seemed to go downhill. Fortunately, Harry and Dotty took back ownership a few weeks ago. There are plans for a complete track rebuild and there are rumors that they will get the TBA national in October. The track is pretty technical and was never geard towards beginners. It's really long and has a pro section, so it's not for everyone. It's a little rough right now, but I expect it to improve dramatically in the near future. I personally dont see a problem with the gate. I dont think its any worse than the one at Perris or the one they had at the Orange Show.

By the way, I only race on Thursdays so I cant comment on the cruiser classes on Saturday nights. We are beginning to get one class of old cruiser guys lumped together on a Thursday night.

Looks like this will never happen. From the CE website:

06/30/08 - CUTTING EDGE- CLOSING FOR GOOD

Cutting Edge BMX has lost it's lease with the county.
Our last race will be Saturday July 12th. Sign-ups still 4-6 PM.
Come on out on the 12th to say goodbye to The Cutting Edge.
It's the end of an era that we are all sad to see go!

Cutting Edge was planning on doing a farewell race on July 12, but their power was shut off on July 3, so they're done. Stick a fork in them. It's always sad times when we lose a track.
