I put a trainer in my sauna and have been putting in an hour a couple times a week in there to prepare for the high temps!

It hit 107 F and stayed right there on my computer all day long (until the sun set). It never got as high as you have heard, but it was hella hot, for sure. I went through my 111oz. CamelBak a few times that day...

When you go left at the Y after the steep climb up from the ambulance road (where they will always have put a water station), you are veering away from the Dragonbacks and the Calf Burner descent. From how you've mapped it out we will not be going down Calf Burner (we'll be going down those new switchbacks instead, yeah?).

When you hit the floor at the bottom of the switchbacks (just before mile 8 on your map) you will be basically be looking west and south as you continue down, looking right across that small valley floor over at the Calf Burner ascent. At that point we will be circling east and going up the climb that then descends to Marine Corps Hill.

I'll miss Tunnel of Love.

yeah....we will see...there seems like there is some debate on whether or not we will be going up or down bridges. i think allison is trying to get the lowdown from jason and will let us know.

I thought I read somewhere that there is going to be a preride this weekend. Anyone know anything about that- Or at least anyone planning on riding it on Saturday?

According to Jason's post on MTBR (endurance forum) the course will be run the way it is posted on the site.

I'm going to try Thurs night or Sunday morning to do up a geoladders route. It'll be as close to the correct course as we'll get until it's mapped out!

that pre-ride is for the xterra course. Not the same thing. The xterra starts in the private boat launch place, not the vail lake campground.

10:30 at the go-cart track. We'll be doing one lap of the course and maybe the Dam descent and Tunnel again.

WARNING: This will likely be a faster paced ride: at least one PRO and a few age-group studs will be there. That's why i haven't posted it as a ride.

Just a note, we are looking for a 4th to join our 4man team June 14th. We all ride in the :58 to 1:02 range and are looking for similar rider or faster.

Let me know if you are interested.
