Default Who's up for the Hellride?

Looks like tons of fun.

Seventy miles, 12,000' feet of climbing while being chased by a couple of pros.

Maybe in hindsite.

Sarah trained really hard for the ride last year. It makes VQ look weak in comparison. Not to mention this year it is a race, not just an attempt to finish.

if the pro's beat you they decide if you keep the bike... so i guess as long as you try your hardest and finish, the pro's will decide to let you keep the bike. If theyre nice

They aren't nice, though. That is where the bribery comes in. I don't think they want your old hockey cards

There are disclaimers. See what the age limit is. I'm guessing 18 since they don't want to get sued by your parents if you die.

If you haven't, read the write-ups from previous years. They are great.

Mike said they were going to change the Hellride concept for '08 - I like the new format. Maybe I can convince Sarah it would be a good idea to enter again and see how she fairs against the others......but then again maybe not!

Even if I were fast enough to attempt the ride, I wouldn't register out of spite for Mark Qweir. That guy rubbed me the wrong way a bunch of times back when he "worked" at WTB.

I'm debating signing up. It sounds like an equalizer format where you get a time differential over the pro chasing you. If that's the case, I'd be riding like a scared rabbit the while time trying to keep Mark, and every other contestant, behind me.

How are you supposed to ride that far and that long unsupported? Even with a 100 Oz. hydration pack, you'd have to refill somewhere.

What's with the single chain ring nonsense?

d00d AG time bonuses? That'd be sweet. Though the wiry little dudes did well on the show.

Usually they climb up from the next town up from Dville up a long steep azz fire road and then climb climb climb... descend back to Dville, there is a small grocery store there you can refill. Then climb climb climb...

He was such a little bitch last year. When Sarah was arranging where to have her food drops jsut before the race he said to her 'this isnt NASCAR you know' about 10minutes later I caught him packing his food up and repeated back to him what he said - He didnt like it and gave me some fake machismo BS so I laughed in his face. The weir may be a great rider but he's all hype.
