I had a similar quandry about Sidi vs no-Sidi.
The biggest issue for me was how slippery the Sidi's are in the water crossings on HJ. A few times I slipped right off the rock and into the streams. It occurred to me I could get more injured from that than riding my bike. So on my last training ride I just said "F the water, I'm ignoring it!" I just walked or rode through every stream. It was so liberating. Yes my feet got squishy for like 2 minutes, but the pressure on the pedals squeezed out the water and my feet were fine soon after. Actually, coming down HJ, it found it oddly refreshing. It certainly saved me time. It's Sidi's for me Saturday. |

I guess I will ride the Sidi's with duct tape on the bottom and generally have cold feet in the morning! The hike up WHT will suck, but doesn't it generally anyway? ![]() |

I would suggest the Sidi's with some tape to seal the toe vents and then when it warms up remove said tape and haul a$$. You may hike a little slower but you are gooing to be spending way more time on the bike then off.. Just my suggestion but hey what do I know I will be in Chicago in sub 0 weather

What about those little baggies that you break to heat your hands. Small enough to fit in a shoe comfortably maybe. Plus in a hour or so they stop working.
