Default 12 hrs of Bootleg Canyon

O.K. details will be up soon, but if anyone's interested in a 12 hr at Bootleg Canyon (near Vegas) check at all mountain cyclery's website soon.

They're putting on an event which Sarah Kaufmann is helping with and Siren Bicycles (Idyllwild) is sponsoring and we're trying to make it a fun event. The details aren't out yet, but it will be from 8am to 8pm 4/12/08 and there should be some big names there so it will be fun to watch. There will be 2person, 4person and solo categories and I hear the trail is super fun.

Keep posted for details!

Thanks for posting this. Do you know if camping is available there? Or do we need to stay at a casino?

Thanks for posting and sponsoring Mary!

Any chance the 29er Siren Song will be there for demo?

Wow, hope everyone gets their sleep in this month. April is looking like there's a ton of fun events between this event, Sea Otter, 24hours Idyllwild, 24hours Temecula.

You can camp for free in the dirt parking lot. There are free HOT showers (really hot) and bathrooms.

It's a 12 hour, so not too much night riding. Plus Idyllwild and Temecula aren't until the 26th, so you could do a duo or something at Bootleg, which would probably be a good springboard for either of those. As for Sea Otter, it's just an xc, so I don't think you'll be too spent for that. This can be a fun event and if you do a team, it would probably be perfect a week before Sea Otter too.

Also, Siren - yes, we'll have a whole demo fleet there, hopefully the 29er SSong will be there as we might be lending it out to someone for a review before that. I don't know what the details will be on camping, but I'll keep ya all posted.

camping details just in from Sarah K

Camping is allowed at Bootleg for special events. There will be lots
of room in the lower lots, just make sure people know they can't camp
up in the canyon. Camping is free and there are free hot showers,
bathrooms, etc.

One really cool thing about this event is the fact that it's such a tough course- a really fun ride even if you weren't racing. I'd expect the average bike there to be a little "bigger" than you might usually come by at a 12 hour race...

Also, according to Sarah K, who's helping put this all together there's a Better Ride DH clinic going on at the same time. How cool is that?!

Sorry, I didn't know that.
Still- seems like a darned good opportunity to haul out a big-ish bike for fun before/after/during the race laps!

It's cool...I heard from denmother that it sold out in a flash. The chance to take a clinic with Greg Minaar...you can understand the popularity

d00d...you are so psychic...I was just thinking that...we could make a really strong showing as a duo! Or, what if we did the 4-person...we'd be soooo set!

Dudettes, do two duo teams. It'll be much more fun that way.

I'm thinking about it. Dubjay and I were looking at the 8 hours of Adrenaline prices for Idyllwild in April and it's costly!

Yeah, that is gonna be a factor for us. It's the week before Sea Otter, also. And right after Idywilld. Busy month!!

It's $60/person if you do anything other than Solo ($80).

Why, oh why are there always multiple races on the same weekend????? :-( This sounds like fun but I will be racing DS at Chamberlin Ranch in preparation for Sea Otter.
