haha no problem. Everyone loves a laugh at my expense.
![]() you can always expect a show when I ride. I think all my crash photos so far is almost like a mug shot of my rear end!

There is a reason that I'm behind the lens instead of in front of it. Thanks for not embarrassing me!

! To be honest, watching the crash up close and personal like I did in my zoom lens wasn't the greatest experience of my life, that's for sure.

Same goes for photogs too (although on a MUCH smaller level) - always wear long pants, hiking boots, a hat, and long sleeves. Better sweaty than sun burned or snake bit!

WOW...what a weekend!
Friday: Went to practice the DH course. Ran it a couple of times and felt simi-decent about the course. It was a great help riding with someone faster and could help break down the course for me (Adam from mtbr). I was also able to meet Sharky and some other STR folks (didn't catch any of their names). Feeling simi-confident about the course i went home.Saturday: Didn't get to practice the DH course (prior engagements). Sunday: Came in and registered, shuttled up to the top and took my first run down. Most of the course look familiar until i got the the upper rock garden . The green (grass and weeds that was on there on friday) high line through the rock garden was now a sandy and rock exposed pit. My first opinion was...WOW, was this here on Friday?!?. Nothing looked familiar anymore. I watched other riders lines and saw sooooo many crashes. I then decided to ride the upper rock garden a couple of times without taking the rock jump. I think out of the three times i practiced the upper rock garden there was a crash every time. By the time i got to practice the lower rock garden it was time for the pros to race. Went back to the upper rock garden to watch the pros and simi pros...and wow. My cousin said it best..."those pros are like Jesus... it seemed like they got to the rock garden and parted all the rocks". They made it look so easy! From there i walked back and got ready for my race run. Got to the top and looked down towards the upper rock garden and saw a lot of people. I think there were more people waiting for the beginners to go and watch the carnage then there was to watch the Pros. Before my run, i was talking to my cousin and other riders and everyone i talked to was talking about their crash at the rock garden. I then started my run very nervous, rode everything conservative until i got to the rock garden...i don't know what i was thinking , but decided to take the drop if i went through the rock garden without a crash. And WOW...what was i thinking...I get to the rock drop and my front wheel washes out. I end up doing the drop face first without my bike I even heard the vultures/crowd say OOOOOOOH . I popped back up look behind me, got my bike and rode the rest of the course back to my conservative riding.Thank God for my body armor and fullface helmet! Otherwise..it could have been worse. Luckily my friend got video of my crash and i will upload it once she sends it to me. Another lucky thing is that i didn't break anything (knock on wood ) just a few scratches and a very bruised ego. I have to say this was the worst crash i have experienced.I would love to see photos also of my crash...number plate was...213Z (red and black jersey, TLD red flames helmet and riding a red VPX with gold spokes). Congrats to all the riders! Esp. Randy (Abstract ) for placing in 4th of the Beginners 27-34 class after his hard crash during practice and my other riding buddy Brian who came in .03 seconds after Randy. GET WELL SOON to all those that got hurt!! See you guys in 2 weeks ![]() And a BIG THANKS to all that stayed and cheered the riders on!!! Last edited by SchwinnStr8; 02-11-2008 at 05:04 PM.
