Default Elings Park DH Course description

The downhill course winds down a 400 vertical foot, spectator-friendly hillside which overlooks the Pacific Ocean at Elings South Park area. This years course has been redesigned with multiple table tops, singletrack, bermed switchbacks that drop into a meadow that continue with tabletop jumps and berms to the finish. The race format is a combined two run time with a 1:30 start time for all riders and 20 second start spacing. Shuttle practice will start at 10:00 am - 1:00 pm in the South Park parking lot. The downhill race will run in conjunction with all-day events including XC and BMX racing, live music, great food, and other cycling related activities in the front (North side of the Park).

Too bad they dropped the Castaic race this year.

I have never raced before, but I want to start this year, so I am going to start with this series.

I want to race at least 6 races in this series.

Anyone else plan on doing these races?

I'm also looking to race for the first time. This looks like a good series to start with, and so do the vail lake races.

IMO, Mt. SAC was an easier race. Not sure why

I feel exactly the opposite. But, you know how it goes. Probably b/c I had good legs at Bonelli and terrible legs at Mt. Sac.

Looks like another year without the Brianhead 100......color me bummed.....and irritated with the fact that racing 100 miles in the dirt means driving a minimum of 8 hours from SoCal! Grrr.

Sports did two laps last year.

The course for the state series is generally different than the SC Velo. Each of the last two years it's completely circled the lake, with a section through the "Vietnam" jungle back by the airport, a rocky climb, and then the long fireroad along I-10. About 9-miles per lap.

Yeah, we didn't race any of the earlier versions, just the Incycle one.
