New Endurance Event Ideas

I have a few ideas for endurance events I would like to do. Not sure if they exist or not. If they don't they should, well I will let you all be the judges of that. I have no interest in trying to become an event organizer just thought these things sound like fun.

12 & 24 Hour Road Biking:
This would be just like MTB 12 and 24 hour events but on road bikes. The course would be 20-25 miles. Competitors would participate solo or in teams. The person or team with the most laps wins.

Triathlons with a twist:
Rather than swim, bike, run, this would be run, MTB, road bike (or in some variation like that). Run would be something like 5 miles, MTB would be 10 miles, and road would be 50-75 miles.

Race to the Ocean:
I got this idea from someone's Birthday Challenge. I'm not sure if the person ever completed his challenge but I love the idea. This race/event starts in Forest Falls and climbs Vivian Creek Trail to San Gorgonio Peak (elevation 11,499) and back to Forest Falls (5,600 ft elevation gain, 16 miles round trip). After that killer hike you mountain bike SART, then road bike the SART to New Port Beach.

I'm not entirely sure how to connect Forest Falls to dirt SART then to road SART but this dude figured it out and it sounds like a heck of a challenge.

I really like the idea of an endurance road race. Maybe its harder to get roads closed for that long of a time compared to trails.

I've also thought of the idea of having an event involving mountain and road biking.

Well in the mean time Arizona is adding a new 24 Hour Mtn bike race in the Phoenix next fall.

Not for me.

Why? Vehicle Traffic, trying to ride tired on a road bike in the middle of the night, and then crashing on pavement.

those are all good ideas...
i say we have an STR sponsored event.. somehow get STR, jenson, and wheelworld and whoever the other sponsors are to set up our own race. what we can do is teams of two and split it in beginner, sport, expert etc and have one man do road biking and the other do the road biking
i think it would be neat for poeple who are afraid to race due to pressure and whatnot and it would be a friendly atmosphere

Sounds like a good idea...but that could almost describe a long cyclocross race.
