sounds like you need a single speed, no more having to deal with climbing in the saddle and/or having the front wheel unweight.....

felt like years bob......every ride...adjust...readjust...flat. adjust, readjust, brake chain. adjust, readjust, crash....

but in his defense...it did work for him and we did wait......mainly just to give him grief.

all ideas here a good....you'll find what works best for you as you ride more. One thing I did not see was geometry of the bike. I made the mistake of putting a 100mm fork on a 2.75 rear travel bike...could not keep it straight on the climbs. solved that prob with a new frame...my dumb error turned into a great chance at a new bike!

Thanks everyone for the tips . I kept them in mind riding up Cholla today. Worked wonders! I just need to build up the strength and pick my lines correctly to really effectively use it.

You forgot to mention the most important TIP of them all... I believe it was Dino Brown who told you to TRUST THE BIKE!

Next time you are unsure what to do- Try to remember the bike came equipped with a self-climbing feature!

Another thing that has helped other folks is to try lowering your seat slightly. A little at a time. Small adjustments in this area has huge consequences in other areas.
