I allways regret it........but I do it over and over! Just built up a new bike, Fisher Fat possum Xo frame, Xt and Xo deraileurs, Xo shifters, you know......nice! Literally rode it 20 miles and, in my usual impulsive fashion, bought a new 2008 Trek Fuel Ex 9. Wich happens to be my "dream bike" So, now I have two bikes, wich for many is normal, and usually is for me. However, they are very similar (useage) and after cleaning it up, looking at it in my garage, and looking at a picture taken of me riding it with a huge grin on my face, (in no particular order) have decided not to sell it! It's funny how that works. You bond with a machine, and obsess over it, and make sacrafices in your life to get those new wheels, or that new fork, and it becomes less of a machine, and more of a good friend. Ha! Listen to me! Oh well, just wanted to see if anyone else has gone through this, and well......what did YOU do?
Thanks for readin! ![]() Oh yeah, here it is.<a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s...0/DSC_0004.jpg" border="0" alt="Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket"></a>

Your situation is a little different than mine. I had a Superlight that had a great setup and a DHR. 28 lbs and 43lbs respectively. Put both together from scratch and loved them both but realized I needed something a little more AM. Sold the Superlight and bought a Turner RFX frame to build from scratch once again.
I think when you build them yourself, whether it's you putting it together or just picking out the parts and having the shop do the work, it becomes part of you. No matter where that bike goes, a piece of you goes with it. Regret? Yes. Do it again? Absolutely. this is all part of the game and the regret solidifies that you are truly in love with the sport and the lifestyle. My only saving grace is that a STR member took the Superlight and I know he's doing great things with it and it's hopefully bringing him as much happiness as it brought me. sniff sniff pout pout OK now on to the next of what will be many builds to come!! ![]() Here's a little help with the picture. I literally have two bikes I very seldom ever ride anymore, but I find it impossible to sell. I guess I will someday though.

I think most of us have been there.
I sold an Intense Tracer that had a really sweet build--complete XT drivetrain, Fox F100 RLC fork etc. The only things I didn't like were the crappy mechanical disc brakes I had on it and the rear end flex caused by me being overweight. I considered putting nice hydro discs on it but the rear end flex buggd me a lot. Now that I've lost 50+ pounds and just so happen to have a set of hydro discs laying around, I really wish I still had it. ![]()

That was just plain stupid, grasshopper Pat... especially with that incredible paint job. I've still got my ProFloater and cannot part with it! On the other hand, the Salsa had to go
