unfortunately, the dropkick murphys you will be seeing are not the original dropkick murphys. All of the original band members have abandoned ship. Not to knock their music, but its not really a wide known fact. Have a good time at least!

Nice dude. Those guys used to live right down the street from me in Jamaica Plain (B-Town). Have fun!

Even Ken Casey? I always thought the original guy Ken Casey is still with the band. He is the bass player. You are right though the majority of the band are not the original band. The new lead singer Al Barr I used to listen to him when was with the Bruisers. Have you heard of the Bruisers? Old School.

didn't know that about the bass player, or the new singer. The DKM's original vocalist is currently heading up a band called "Street Dogs" if you're into street punk, definitely give them a listen.

Ken Casey is an original member (yes, the only one). The drummer, Matt, has been with them *almost* as long as the band has been together so he should kinda count. I have a couple of their very first 7"s-- I wonder how much they're worth!

BOSTON! Spent plenty of time in B-Town! Best Friend lives there.

Couple of memories:
1) I am 99% certain I saw a (Boston) Dropkick Murphy's concert. '97? '98? They played in a typical Boston pub. Roudy Irishmen/College Drunks everywhere! Good times! The people in the crowd were waaaaay too happy. Was waiting for fights to break out! They didn't!

2) A friend (from Cali) wanted me to bring back a (Boston) Gold's Gym sweatshirt. The Gym is located on Lansdowne(?) Street--- directly behind THE GREEN MONSTER!!! I walked into the gym, bought the sweatshirt, paid for it, walked out- and proceeded to watch a batting practice homerun land inches away from the car I was driving- my Uncle's brand new 7 Series BMW! Yes, I picked-up the ball!

3) For years I thought it was called Jamaica Spain! That's what (all of the) locals told me!

4) Fired Yo Momma would love Boston- lots of beer... lots of food!!!!

Now I know why they sound so similar; I never put two and two together. Either way they both rock.
