Default An email from a riding buddy…..

"Had a super $hitty day at work yesterday.

Go home and my wife senses my tude and exiles me to the garage for a little headspace. Which was good because I had some work to do on my cross country bike after an epic ride over the weekend with DeeZee.

So I am changing my tubeless tire after having a puncture on the weekend….. Bummer.

Bought a new Hutchison’s Python from the Path….. Not cheap

Everything is good to go

I put about a half a cup of small tire slime in…….. I am too cheap to buy Stan’s.

So I go to put the thing on and it seems a little strange because the tire is making these trippy crunchy sounds like it was dry or something.

Usually these things bead with a hand pump. Not this one. So I shoot a CO2 in and the bead holds. I put the wheel and tire on the work bench and start on it with the floor pump.

I got to about 35 pounds and could still see a place on the bead that had not set completely. Kept pumping………..

37 pounds…..38…….39………

BOOOM!!!

The tire blows with the sound of gunfire. The tire flies off the wheel hits the ceiling and lands on the floor.

My wife comes out.

She was white as a sheet thinking I had put a gun in my mouth and blown my brains out……. I didn’t

I stood there in a daze with my ears ringing and my eyes burning ..

She starts laughing and taking pictures

Scroll down…………………….

That reminds of that really old Disney movie. An inventor makes some green bouncy goo to put under his shoe.

After that laugh I'm sure his mood shifted. Maybe someone was trying to teach him a lesson on perspective?
