Your pick for champ? 3 drivers down to the final race.
I hope Kimi gets it.... it a quiet introvert like myself that just shuts up and drives.

Lewis.... meh , he is Bernies boy toy.

Alonso..... Crys more then Danica Patrick... plus he is a narc....... snitches get stiches.

If your own team were consistently screwing you in favor of your teammate, (and competitor), you would probably cry too...

I think Lewis is going to take it. It's interesting to see how much he's been able to rattle Alonso this year and make him lose his cool. That's something M. Schumacher never seemed to be able to do.

It's been a great season on the track. I could have done without all the off track drama of Stepneygate, but at least they didn't screw with the driver's championship points.

Wonder where Alonso will end up next year? I've heard rumors of Ferrari, Toyota, and Renault.

I'm really looking forward to this showdown. I'd be happy with either my fellow countryman winning in his rookie year or Raikkonen jsut because he's slightly insane and drives like a lunatic. Just as long as Alonso doesnt win *mutters something about the Spanish Armada*

I am for Kimi, will be hard to keep Hamilton back, Alonso will have to not crack and basically take pole if he has any shot. Two variables to consider:

1. If Massa qualifies better than Kimi and Kimi can't keep pace (Massa won here last year) with massa, don't look for help there.

2. It could rain!!!

Massa has agreed to play 2nd fiddle to Kimi despite it being his home race and considering he jsut signed for another 2 years (keeps Alonso from jumping ship when he gets his ass handed to him on Sunday) he'll be keen ot keep the Ferrari family happy. I'm sure if he was leading he'd have to come in for a precautionary tyre check or something

I hope it does rain - the best shine that bit brighter when the heavens open

should be a good good race...hoping everyone keeps it clean into the Senna S and let the passing happen on the track and not the pits (wishfull thinking).

I supported kimi when he was at mclaren but you cant help but roote for Hamilton a virtual nobody till the begining of this season and everyone doubted that his was all a bit serendiputous and that he'll crack soon...well he hasnt except for that last race which i still couldnt quite figure out how he just let the championship go to the last race.

Alonso, well i found out somethings about him this season that just rubbed me the wrong way. Not being a team player and whining there's no whining in F1 there's crying but not whining and he whines.

Im glad that the racing will be at a decent time too so we can all watch it live and not have to wake up at the butt crack of dawn to watch.

Fri - 9:00 AM for Friday Practice
Sat - 9:00 AM for the Quali
Sun - 8:30 AM for the race

I'll be setting my DVR for this

Is it mathematically possible for a 3 way tie? LOL

I'm really having a hard time handicapping this one...I've always felt like Kimi's a bit overhyped. He's good, but he's also in a Ferrari, and he never really has lit the world on fire. Maybe it's just the persona, but something about him I've never warmed up to.
Alonso? He's damn good, but blackmailing Ron Dennis in an attempt to get primary driver status just ain't right. He's been such a crybaby all season now that he's not Flavio's golden boy - it's not like his driving hasn't been on par, and he's been winning and placing well - he should've just left it on the track. i think he's lost a lot of support from the fans over this...
Lewis? I can't help but thinking of him as a Jimmy Connors type of athlete - he's incredibly talented, but he's been steered by McLaren and insulated so long that he's a sort of missing something...not icy like Kimi, just unable to handle the eventual lean times at McLaren. Look what happened when he spun off in China...

Tough to call for Interlagos, but I'm gonna give Alonso the edge for the title based on his experience. Hoping for rain too!

Just saw that Massa's signed through 2010, so take Ferrari off that list.
I'm thinking back home to Renault, though they better fix their aero problems if they want to keep Fred happy...

How about all 3 of them together for the race then the 2 Macca's take each other out leaving it open for Kimi. Speed's coverage isnt bad but they arent repeating the race later on Sunday meaning I'm house bound for the morning - Mental note to buy a DVR!

Kimi will win the race and Lewis will win the championship and Alonso will be back at Renault next year.

In my eyes the championship this year is a sham. McLaren cheated was caught and lost all of their constructors points but the driver's standing are unaffected, lame. The driver's and the car's achievements go hand and hand. Compare Alonso's results as a Minardi and Renault driver.

I've watched F1 for a long time but it is starting to get boring. The technical aspect of the racing has been so dumbed down they might as well run GP2 cars.

Yeah, but at least next year traction control will be gone, which should make it more interesting. Haven't seen wheelspin for far too long!

People tend to forget that its a drivers championship - not a constructors championship. The series is about finding the most talented racer in the world in the fastest racing cars in the world.

Maclaren in my eyes are innocent as the whole thing kicked off when two British engineers from Ferrari and Maclaren started exchanging data to put themselves in better stead for their 2008 (Both were actively seeking employment with other teams)

The cars are being made less technical because hey its a drivers championship, manual boxes are coming back in the not too distant future because its about driver skill and ultimate speed not just technical innovation.

if they really wanted things to go back to being a drivers race. let's go back to flat bottoms, racing slicks that are wider so they can dice it out without upsetting the balance of the cars when they're so close to each other. remember back in the early 90's when there were just legendary dicing back and forth at circuits like kayalama and sazuka

I think renault is keen to have him back because he has some technical knowledge and he's shown that he can keep his big mouth shut so renault can benefit technically w/ alonso back in the helm. Hell they cant do worse keep heiki and loose fischi (he sucks).

Not much chance of slicks and flat bottom cars coming back due to the ever faster speeds and laptimes. (Safety Vs increasing speed battle) Active Aero will be allowed in a few years so expect to see cars with wings that fold in on the straights and suddenly lift under braking and/or cornering. Hybrid drives will be allowed to when the engine capacity drops in 2010. The future sure looks bright in F1 if you read the FIA mandates for future rules.

dont you find it ironic though that the FIA's attempts to "slow" down lap times only makes them go that much faster the next year and the subsequent years after that?

perfect example going from slicks to grooved and narrower tires. they actually lapped faster times and went down the straight faster because there was less of a contact patch and aero profile going down the straight.

My point of going back to flat bottoms and slicks is that all that equals MORE mechanical grip which = drag which will help the slow lap time (i think). hell if they want to slow things down just increase the minimum weight but the great thing about F1 that I love so much is that no matter what the rules are they find a way around it and make the cars faster and safer.
