I'm crossing my fingers for Lewis!

I haven't been happy with Alonso's attitude this year, and I think it would be really cool for the rookie to win. Looking forward to the race!

Ya, Kimi is that good, I remember seeing him fight with Michael Schumacher head to head quite a few times. He put Shumi in check with a So-So mclaren ( this comming from a Schumacher fan ) Kimi in an Introvert.

More mechanical grip (tires) and less aero would also allow drivers to follow each other closer through the corners.

Of course, smaller or no wings at all won't happen. That's a lot of advertising space!

this just in; reports that Alonso has been released from McLaren MBZ

Quote:
'You don't want us, and we don't want you.' That seems to be the consensus at Mercedes-Benz regarding Fernando Alonso, who has openly stated his displeasure over the course of the season with McLaren, the F1 team principally owned and powered by Mercedes.
According to emerging reports, the majority of the German automaker's executive board voted that Alonso is no longer a suitable representative of their company, and that his services should not be retained for an additional season. This despite the contract that binds the Spanish driver to the British team through 2008, but if neither party has any desire to uphold the conditions, the contract is rendered rather meaningless.
Mercedes motorsport chief Norbert Haug has also dismissed the speculation that they could prevent Alonso from going to a competing team next season by forcing him into a sabbatical until the contract has run out, saying, "That's not our style." Guess that means the one hurdle between the two-time world champion and a return to happier days at Renault, where he won said titles, has just been conveniently removed.

Yeah, you would think they would have discussed it during the press conference today.

My apologies. For some reason I must have skipped over that part. Damn dual monitors and multi-tasking.

I'll be really bummed if this decides the title outcome:

We need to look at the entire picture before saying this one incident decided the entire season. What if this would have happened in the first race and Lewis lost to Kimi? Ferrari haven't made this mistake and should be rewarded if McLaren does. Just like McLaren should be rewarded if Ferrari needs to replace an engine and move back on the grid 10 places.

As a side note I would like to see the points system go back to the old days. There should be a much wider gap in points between first and second place. Or go back to dropping the worst race from each half of the season.

Kimi's won 5 races and Lewis 4. If Kimi wins in Brazil and Lewis is crowned champion it will be a travesty. Like losing the popular vote but winning based on the Electoral college.

Actually there are both and McLaren was disqualified from the constructors championship for cheating. Anyone recall when Bar-Honda was banned for two races for having an illegal fuel tank. The driver's had nothing to do with it but were penalized because their cars couldn't be driven.

Ironic since McLaren is a British based team and Lewis is British too. If anything nationality has more to with it and makes it worse. Lets not forget [SIZE=-1]Mike Coughlan was the Chief Designer for McLaren not a mechanic, a PR person, or even an electronics engineer. This makes the accusations even more important. He 100% final say in the design of the car. He more than anyone would benefit from the Ferrari technical documents.

F1 has always been about the technical innovation. If a race team doesn't like this they can race in Champ Car, the IRL, GP2, Formula: Renault, Ford, Mazda, etc...all spec series.

For me the amazing part of F1 is the difference in the cars produce such small variations in lap times, depending on course front runner, midfield, and back of the field teams. Allowing STR and Super Aguri to compete with essentially customer cars is pretty lame.

Sorry for the rant guys...I just love F1.
