Sick of junk mail(actual mail, not "e")????

My co worker found this out. Not sure if its true, but if its coming from the post office then I can't dispute it, and will be giving it a try.

I went to the post office this morning and asked how do I stop all this crap from arriving in my mailbox.
They gave me a piece of paper
Write to these guys and say please remove me from all mailing lists, and your address.

She said anytime you order something, most likely that company will sell your info back to them, so its a good idea to send a letter every month.
I'm printing up 12, and each month when I send out my mortgage, I'll send another copy of this.
Well worth the stamp to me, I'm sick of my mailbox stuffed full with ads for hot dog sales at Vons, and 600 credit card applications.

If you want some payback. Take the prepaid business reply cards they give you. Tape it to a box filled with bricks, old tires, rocks, debris, boxes of old junkmail, whatever. It gets paid for by them.

wow thats a lot to go though... I will try my buddies way first and see if it works. If not some of the Tips on that site seem pretty good. I can believe in this modern age of email and websites companies still do this. Most of my bills are paid via the internet or auto pay now...I NEVER read any of that stuff. and its just lame to go though everything....
