Lightbulb I've gone LIVE! (Like you guys care...)
If any of you guys has a voyeuristic streak, watching me at work probably won't satisfy that urge.

I've jumped on the LifeCasting bandwagon and set up my webcam at work again. I'm still debating if I want to set up a dedicated server or utilize the free services on the web. I'll probably run my own server in the future if I want a little more control and flexibility.



In the meantime...check me out.

it's pretty funny to watch justin.tv and the other internet celebs go through their day/life. their data plan on their wireless must be crazy because some broadcast when they're on the road too.

unlimited data on UMTS network from At&t is only $40/month

there should be an * next to that unlimited...because it really isnt...if you read the big carrier's fine print.

Nope. Though that is a concern if I decided to run my own streaming server. That's one of the main reasons why I'm against streaming from here.

Yes and no.

I don't mind getting attention, but could care less if I do.

Just make sure I don't make multiple posts of "Please look at my webcam!!"

Though I may post an announcement of any special broadcasts (i.e. from the road, critter cam, etc.)

That's the weird thing about webcams...sometimes you get engrossed with even the most mundane stuff.

It's probably why reality shows are a big hit.

On another note...Macs vs PCs.

My old G5 iMac here on my desk is streaming video, playing music, running email, open to STR, etc. and it's running fine.

My PC that's just running my mortgage software and loaded with 2Gb of memory can't even handle running Excel and a web window. I can't stand that thing!!

I'm gonna replace both of these things with an Intel Mac running Parallels and call it a day!

How's the audio?

I just have iTunes playing. The microphone on my Mac is just picking up the speaker that's next to it.

I wonder how the conversations sound. There's probably gonna be times that I have to mute the audio feed.
