While searching the internet I found some pretty cool pages that had use for duct tape. Entertain yourself with these tips:
Kent makes duct tape panniers. Pedal Pushers explain the fine art of mending your clothes with duct tape. (A few paragraphs down.) The Greasy Wrench uses duct tape to aid him in bleeding disc brakes. Instructables builds a tandem with two bike frames & duct tape. Building a single speed or fixed gear? Try some duct tape. The cycling legend Sean Kelly even used duct tape on his shoes back in the day

Come on Mike, it was one day in Sedona while it was snowing. I hate having cold wet feet while riding.

on a similar note, y'all know that super glue was origionally intended for the medical industry for use instead of sutures? heck, I've heard of sports med people use it for minor cuts in college football. and, now back to your randomly strange threads.

Google search: History Cyanoacrylate was discovered by Harry Coover at Eastman Kodak during World War II when searching for a way to make plastic gun-sight lenses. It did not solve this problem, since it stuck to all the apparatus used to handle it. It was first marketed to industry as well as consumers in February 1955 as a product called "Flash Glue" which is still available today and now owned by Gary Shipko, president of Super Glue International, a United States based firm. It was patented in 1956 and developed into Eastman 910 adhesive in 1958. The new glue was demonstrated in 1959 on the television show I've Got a Secret when the host Garry Moore was lifted into the air by two steel plates held together with a drop of Eastman 910. Cyanoacrylates are now a family of adhesives based on similar chemistry

I shot some into my eye in Jr. high - I was pretty freaked out (mostly fearful that I would glue my eye shut) but the Dr. said not to worry. He said it was non-toxic and wouldn't hurt anything. |
