Default Horse control

I still believe riding horses is animal abuse but this is amazing. When I was youger I worked on a ranch and had to ride to earn my keep, I know what it takes to control a horse.
If they can do this with a horse, why can't they control them on the trails. Watch this vid, I found it amazing:

Anyone who has ridden horses know it has as much to do with the horse's confidence in the rider, than the rider's ability to "control" the horse.

We've seen people on horses who say "it's OK just ride on by". Their horse knows and acts like they do. I've ridden Arabs endurance and western style (although not consistently) for years. One horse in particular is a real handful at times for me. But, my Mother in law gets on her, and she's a big baby. she just walks along for her.... stupid horse

Over the past 15 years or so that I've been mtbing, I've only had a few run-ins with people riding horses. It's been a long time, seems some of the hostility between the two groups has died down, maybe we've just come to accept the fact that we share trails. Regardless, none of the people riding horses have accepted my challenge to control their horse as well as I can control my bike.

Talking

I grew up on a ranch w/ 9 horse's, we had everything from motorcycles and trucks racing past us, to people shooting gun's, we had one horse get bit by a rattler w/ my Mom on him, she stayed on. it's all about horse control and training. I've come across great people riding horse's and some who are just A$$' about us being on the trail. be nice to the ladies at Santiago Oaks, two ladies out there, gaves us a couple beers one day.
