Moylan's Kily Lifter is another good one and is usually stocked at local BevMos.

![]() I'm with John. A better developed palate drinks good stuff, period. In the words of the late, great Michael Jackson (the beer writer, not the freak), "Wine is just a grape someone stepped on, beer is hand crafted art." ![]()

Beer and wine both have there own intricacies and nuances that the maker puts in there for you to appreciate. When I was in my sommelier class we spent a couple days talking about beer and food parings with different beer styles. The days of the beer drinker being some slob with no culinary sense is no longer the case. So eat, drink and enjoy.

Beer! How did you know?

I went to Stone on my B-day. Stone is fabulous at the fine art of hops. Arrogant Bastard should go down in beer history as the best super-hop beer. Their IPA’s are all fabulously hopped too! Too much hops? For me, I like to have one or two high-hopped beers but then I am done. The day after my birthday-drinking-fest at Stone (where I easily had 12 of their beers), I woke up feeling like I had been chewing on a barrel of hops. The aftertaste stayed with me for two days! Anywhoo – a fine dry-hopped beer is my favorite treat (anywhere from 50-80 IBUs is awesome). My second favorite treat, however, is a low hop, heavily malted and candied Blonde Abby. Mmmmmm Blonde Abby. ![]() |
