I was watching nbc or something and they had a special on the Race Across America. I thought that was the coolest (and probably one of the hardest) things ever. So that is basically what got me into road/mountain biking. The Race Across America is reffered to as the RAAM so I decided that I wanted to Ride the RAAM one day and I am going to do it one day when I have like what about 10grand saved up. I think thats how much they say you end up spending during the course of that thing.

My name is Marty. If you ever saw Back to the Future, the character was named Marty Mcfly. My friends kid was too young to call me Marty, it always came out as Mott. So there it is. Ground breaking huh?

I started off as ReFleX, which I made up because I rode an RFX. Everyone else on Socalmtb seemed to have cool names that involved their bike, like the coolest of all, JoeTruth. I was trying to fit in. Many thought I was a Duran Duran fan. I was not.
![]() Then, somehow, my ReFleX name got f'ed up, and I couldn't login any more. The administrators weren't able to help. I went to my trusted buddies at Socalmtb, and we came up with BrahMa. I was big into "brah" at the time, and I'm kindof a bull in a china shop, so it fit. |

Please give credit where credit is due. I (moi) came-up with your damn name, damn it! I thought it was fitting since you were/are a brah and had an eastern Indian connection, hence the name. A Hindu God, it even resembles the very sexy and shmooth, PT. How's dike surfing coming along, brah and how was VQ this year? Don't tell me you were bored by it again!

I'll just have to look at it this way: Guitars - too many strings too many good guitarist. Drums - too much stuff to haul on gigs.

It's my name
