Facebook was around 2 years before MySpace came into existence. It used to be a online meeting place for students, but has changed to be an open-to-all social networking site.

MySpace is pretty much the reason for Facebook's decline in popularity.

[SIZE=3]I despise MySpace. I wish it would vanish and never return. It's become an epidemic for kids and parents should be paying a lot more attention @ what their kids are up to online. I have kids who would live online, if I let them.

Couple of ways I find MySpace productive...

Bands looking for recognition. Why not!

Network with family and friends who are not in your region and want to know what you're up to.

The rest of the crap (i.e. pic comments, comment me this comment you that, etc.) I find absurd and nothing short of ridiculous.

Get a life, people!

Fabcebook rejected ~$1billion from Yahoo because they want $2billion. Not sure why you say it's not worth anything now. I think they'll get their $2billion or close to it someday.

From a technical standpoint, facebook is 10000x times better than myspace. By technical I mean how it was programmed and built.

I use myspace, and I'm not ashamed at all. I've found so many old friends on there that I probably would have never gotten to see again, and all of the people on my "friends" list are people I know in person.

It is what you make of it... and unfortunatly, it's a pretty accurate representation of what kids are like these days (Pathetic is a word that comes to mind)

One thing I dont like just from going to the main site on FB is that you have to sign up to view it. That sucks for any website I think. They want your information before you can even see if you like it, bullshit. Places like that I will never sign up for. I like myspace for networking my photography business but I hate it for all the scumbags that are on it and people pretending to be other people, etc etc etc... but thats the internet you get it everywhere. People only hate myspace more for that because of how big it is. I just wish I had thought of it

As the parent of a 17 year-old daughter and a 14 year-old son, the MySpace obsession required my upmost attention.Basic rules were just like ANY online activity. Doors open & if I walk in your room you'd better not switch the page or your 'puter is MINE. Of course, my parental sneakiness paid off when I garnered both of my kids passwords. Thankfully, my two have been fairly level-headed. But, was I ever surprised by some of my kids' friends. Best time - my daughter's (then) boyfriend came over one night and gave my daughter a line about why he didn't call the night before. I calmly reminded him that this morning about 1am he was posting how drunk he got at ______'s party. The punk's color drained from his face and once again, I displayed Dad's Unknown Power.
