We rode our bikes in to work, so maybe that'll help?

Though, admittedly we've never been caught in rain during a commute. Did once on a weekend ride, though.

It is a mixed blessing 3 of the 10 lighting fires in Inyo National Forest are still burning.

Inyo National Forest - Current Conditions

A lightning storm moved quickly through the Eastern Sierra Friday afternoon, July 6, 2007, igniting approximately 10 fires, which are being managed as the “Inyo Complex”. As of 8:00 am Saturday, July 7, 2007 the three largest fires still actively burning are the Oak Fire burning west and north of the Town of Independence and on both sides of US 395. The Seven Fire is burning west and north of the Town of Independence and the Sage Fire, which is burning in Big Pine Canyon. On July 7, 2007 Southern California Interagency Incident Management Team 3 assumed command of the fire and remain in unified command with CalFire.
On July 7, 2007 the western portion of the Town of Independence was evacuated for several hours (approx. 200 residents) as the town was immediately threatened. Approximately, 20 residents were evacuated to Statham Hall in Lone Pine, CA. The remainder of the evacuated residents sought refuge with friends and relatives in nearby towns and the Diaz Lake Area.
Firefighters continue to make excellent progress constructing containment line and mopping up hot spots especially, in the areas adjacent to the communities of Big Pine and Independence. Firefighters will continue to be vigilant and alert for new fire starts as thunderstorms and lightning are predicted.
Residents may continue to see smoke from this fire. Smoke impacts in the Eastern Sierra currently are mild. Fire apparatus traveling in and through communities and US 395 may impact residents and the traveling public.

At about 2:30 p.m. today, it actually "rained" here in Woodland Hills. I used quotes on that because it was sort of over before it started -- there was just enough precipitation to make splatters on the driveway, but that was it.

Absurd and bizarre... we need rain sooooo bad.

Listen people, It won't rain until I wash MY TRUCK. I'll explain; It's the curse of the Auto Detailer. I used to do auto detailing about 17 years ago and after doing everyone's elses cars, trucks or whatever. I finally get a chance to do mine and it'll rain. To this day, I don't enjoy more than 2 days of my Truck being clean and it rains or even drizzles. Of course, it doesn't rain the inside 24 hrs so I can get my car wash again for free with the rain check policy.

Rain?!? Bah humbug!! This is the desert people. No rain means lot's o' riding.

And don't cry drought either. We don't get the majority of our water from local rain.

White people can't dance. We will have to rely on other races to get this job done.
