Thumbs down What I can't stand about my iPhone.

  1. Can't send/receive photos using Bluetooth.
  2. Have to go to a sub-menu to enter punctuation
  3. The "Preview Pane" for email is noticably absent
  4. Can't stop an email refresh
  5. No "Category" features in Calendar
  6. No "Attendees" feature in Calendar
  7. No cut, copy, and paste functions
  8. No ToDo feature. Perhaps we get this when Leopard comes out?
  9. A battery percentage indicator would be nice
  10. I can't have my custom/mp3 ringtones?
  11. Can't delete pictures in the iPhone's photo library
  12. Can't create/delete Groups in Contacts
  13. Can't purchase items from the iTunes Store on the phone
  14. Can't send MMS messages
  15. Can't use the iPhone as a flash drive
  16. Can't save documents or pictures emailed to you
Even with my gripes, I love the phone. All these little issues can probably be resolved with a simple software update when you sync to iTunes. Time will tell...

Can anyone else add to this list?

Yeah, thanks for being the guinea pig!!! Kinda' bums ME OUT the phone has issues.

I will guarantee you two things 1) Apple is already aware of the issues 2) Developers are aware with the issues!

Version two "may" address the problems. I am sure updates are on the way!

Again, thanks for being the guinea pig!

No to handsfree dialing.
Yes to Bluetooth headsets.

I predict that another iPhone will be at least a year away. When it comes out, it'll probably be a simpler phone (not as full featured) and at a lower price point.

Keep in mind that there may not be a version 2 in the immediate future as far as hardware is concerned. You can look for software versions 1.1, 1.2, etc. The phone is currently at v1.0

Stevie has a goal of 10 million units plus by this time next year. I think you'll see this chunk of metal, glass, and plastic for quite sometime, though I wouldn't put it past Apple to do some internal changes if the hardware proved to be faulty.

There's always spotty areas with any service, but I had no problems roaming all over Rancho Cucamonga and Ontario today.

In my office, my iPhone has full bars versus zero or one bar on my T-Mobile CrackBerry Pearl.

My house is in Rialto. I looked at all carriers' coverage maps and my house seems to barely be on the edge of coverage on all of them.

YMMV...

CeeDub, I didn't realize you live in Rialto. We're practically neighbors. You, me, Pain Freak, RidetheRaam, we have to ride soon.

Oh, and so I don't just hijack the thread... iPhone looks cool, but I want one with more harddrive storage.

Some of those issue you reported kinda concern me. No cut and paste? No custom ringtones? And, a todo list would be nice. But, i'd rather be able to install 3rd party apps, instead.

My only real gripe about my iPhone is that you can't send the same text message to multiple recipients at the same time. Other than that, I'm pretty satisfied with the thing.

Hopefully google will release a gmail app for the iPhone which will bring back the "real" functionality of gmail itself. Downloading the emails via POP3 is kinda a waste on a gmail account, IMHO.

actually they have gone 3G... UTMS is up and running in SoCal. But the iPhone only supports EDGE (2.5G), or does it support UTMS also?

I've tried all the services, Cingular/ATT works the best in the most places IMO.

Default I found this floating around the net...

If all of these are true, 'ol Stevie J. has a lot of work to do...

1. At $599, it is ridiculously expensive. (Add in the cost of an AT&T contract and you get close to $1500)
2. Those who want to buy one must sell their soul to evil mega-corporation AT&T.
3. Japan already has technologically superior phones, and they’re far cheaper.
4. Slower internet than the commercials show: “The data experience is going to be very slow. If you’re on a cellular network, [using the Internet] is going to be very slow.”
5. Initial reports indicate that YouTube is slow and crappy using cellular network internet/EDGE. It’s nothing like in the commercials.
6. You cannot remove its battery. Thanks for replicating one of the biggest complaints about the ipod, Apple!
7. The glass touch screen of the iPhone guarantees that thousands of customers who drop their phones will have cracked screens.
8. The touchscreen keyboard sucks, according to those who have used the phone.
9. It can’t send MMS picture messages.
10. The camera has little or no options, and the pictures it takes aren’t very good.
11. It lacks proper support for Flash websites. So much for the internet.
12. It can’t record video.
13. “Pinching” pictures to zoom might look neat in commercials, but many reviewers are saying it actually sucks.
14. It lacks 3G high-speed data transfer.
15. No songs as ringtones.
16. No GPS.
17. It doesn’t work under 64-bit Windows XP / Windows Vista!!!!!!! Thanks for not including that in your Windows System Requirements, Apple!
18. It only allows for a maximum of 1 picture to be attached to each e-mail you send.
19. It doesn’t have a file browser/organizer.
20. Its default ringtones suck.
21. You can not save documents on it: documents can only be viewed as attachments when they’re sent to your e-mail address.
22. No games!!
23. Its “quick list” dialing sucks compared to traditional speed dialing, which it lacks..
24. Long activation waits: many new iPhone users are reporting that they are being told to wait hours or even days to activate service for their phone. Thanks, AT&T!
25. Heat issues: the iPhone can get very hot when it is in use.
26. Deceptive Ads: Apple has been using models with gigantic hands in their advertisements for the iPhone in an effort to trick consumers into believing it is more compact.
27. Many of the positive press reports about the iPhone are influenced by newspapers and TV networks that simply want to profit from the hypefest, or even worse, reporters who are looking to sell books about the iPhone.
28. It creates incredibly annoying iPhone fanboys.

The guy that sits next to me has one. He bought two over the weekend. Contrary to the above statement, he says 'pinching' is addictive.

That's the way it goes with something like what you wrote above -- some folks dig it, some don't.
