Default Hootenanny July 7

Who's going to the hootenanny this year? I've never been. Social D is headlining.

It's by Irvine Lake.

This sounds like fun.

That lead singer from Throw Rag is a piece of work.
Dave Alvin and The Blasters on the same bill - that should be interesting!
The Rev played on Friday in Long Beach at the Ink and Iron festival.

Only been once, in '98, and that show was unreal. Had so much damn fun. X, The Rev., Social Distortion, The Cramps, Lee Rocker (w/ special guest Slim Jim Phantom for the set!), the list went on and on. Best lineup I've seen, bar none.

Let's do this, C!

Not sure what they put in it, but must beware draft Budweiser in that Oak Canyon sun. Only had a couple, as I recall, but "fell asleep" under one tree, and woke up some time later under another. Bizarre.

Again, let's do this!

not going this year but have seen alot of the bands at other venues (SD is still one of my all time favs). If you do hit it and haven't seen em before you're gonna dig the Supersuckers. Suggest u check them out (they do a few covers that rock as well)

also while not rockabilly saw the voodoo glow skulls on the same card as RHH years ago. if u get a chance at another show, check them out as well (cool mix of punk, ska, hardcore, etc)

I will be their this year. I went to the Ink and Iron last week and it was mucho fun although I did not get anymore ink. I am really into the whole Rockabilly thing. The Reverend played last week and although he was great his time on the stage was very short. The Briggs were pretty good last week. The Supersuckers will be playing this year as well and they rock along with Social D.

The Supersuckers are hands down, by far my favorite band of all time. If they ever "made it" I would be pissed off b/c I have been into them since the early 90's! I dig their country stuff too. They are just a great band!

So who is going to Hootenanny tommorow? I am going for a local early ride, then off to go listen some good tunes and cool cocktails. If anybody wants to meet up for a pre concert drink warm up in the parking lot PM me and we can get together.

I've gone to lots of these and it's just too damn hot!! Would have liked to see Supersuckers, Deke Dickerson, and Roger Miret though! xNYHCx!!

Social D's last few shows were kind of underwhelming.

I agree. SD was doing pretty well with Chuck Biscuits, but has seemed to loose steam since.
I would love to go, but the Mrs. can't do the heat either.
