You can go to ABA BMX for the full requirements.
However the basic requirements are: Helmet (your XC lid is fine, if you don't mind the minimal protection) Pants (shorts with knee pads are generally not allowed) Long sleeve shirt (some places allow short sleeve with elbow pads) Frame and stem must have pads (they can be thin and cheesy, but as long as they are 1/4" thick) - some tracks may not require this (edit: for mountain bikes) Some tracks won't allow quick releases. I've never been to one that minded, but they generally aren't allowed. |

ive seen tara llanes,eric carter,brian lopes,to name a few at my home track here in cucamonga,cutting edge.last i saw tara they just let loose the d/h domination vid game.theses peeps use track time for mtb practice.tara's hot by the way.whittier bmx is free or really really cheep to ride and you my not need a membership to ride it, its part of the parks and rec. of LA county.also you need what LEE said AND a membership.insurance reasons.
