I stay at that Marriott all the time for work. The Firestone Brewery restaurant right down the road is where I eat (and drink) every time I'm there. There's some beautiful riding in the area too.

CalEpic- thanks for the advice. I had a hard time even getting back to my room! Maybe I will make the Firestone races and stop in there for old time sake

Next time you go to the Brewery restaurant, try the Firestone Reserve Float. It's two scoops of vanilla ice cream floating in a mug of their Reserve beer. The first couple of spoons are a little harsh but then it goes down real smooth.
They have a great looking cycling jersey too.

On the earlier subject of Coors Light, I once heard it said that
"The art of being wise is the art of know what beer to overlook."

I was at Chili's the other night and had a Karl Straus "After Dark"....tastey times!!! Its not too heavy, and it has that hint of chocolatey hops or something like that. It goes well with the Memphis Dry-Rub ribs!

since i haven't been riding as much out here and getting a gut anyways, I've been homebrewing to pass the weekends.

brewed up so far:
-fat tire clone

-"STR" stone ipa clone (in honor of the good times had with STR! This stuff is shaping up to be LIQUID GOLD!

-Abita Turbodog clone

-Raspberry wheat

I plan to venture out and start concocting my own recipes now that I'm getting the hang of it.

Any ideas??
Saxon Lemon Lager is the closest I could think for ya. If you like the lighter stuff, try Hoegarden from Belgium. If you like it "fruity" add some Belgian Framboise Lambic and make a bloody hoe. (not my name for it). These can all be found at Bevmo.

This thread can't die!

I am having an awesome Full Sail IPA right now.
"12 Fluid Ounces of Ridiculously Tasty India Pale Ale Concocted By Our Massive Brewforce of 47.", as the label says.
