    Default A Christmas Story

It's almost that time of year again. What's your favorite line?

"I WANT AN OFFICIAL RED RYDER TWO HUNDRED SHOT RANGE MODEL AIR RIFE!" WITH A COMPASS IN THE STOCK AND THIS THING WHICH TELLS TIME".
    Dohhh!

We must train our minds to desire what the situation demands.

Government is the great fiction, through which everybody endeavors to live at the expense of everybody else.

Religion is fundamentally opposed to everything I hold in veneration--courage, clear thinking, honesty, fairness...and, above all, love of the truth.

such a good movie. I actually read online the other day that in real life a kid stuck his tongue to a flag pole... called 911 and everything to 'save him'. Maybe if they aired A Christmas Story earlier in the year he would have known better!

    Its a major Award!

I got my friend the leg lamp last year for christmas, and when I drove by his house a few days later he had it lit up in the window of his house.

    Default Grasshoppers...

You guys may laugh... but I lived that movie...grew up in a small town in the early 50's. I wanted nothing more in my short life than a Red Rider BB gun... my mother was dead set against it yet somehow my dad came through... and yes, I almost shot my eye out... and that's why I watch this movie every year. It took years to get over the smell of stale beer on a cheap department store stanta. I've even done the soap in the mouth thing (my mom's favorite) I grew to love the taste of Bell's Nappa soap. That movie is a real slice of small town life circa 1950s and simpler times.... now my toys are so much expensive!

Lux. My mom used Lux, and that was the late 70s. (My mom grew up in the 40s/50s). Do mom's do that anymore?

"With as much dignity as he could muster, the Old Man gathered up the sad remains of his shattered major award. Later that night, alone in the backyard, he buried it next to the garage. Now I could never be sure, but I thought that I heard the sound of "Taps" being played, gently."
