I know many of you guys use an Ipod but i just got one last night. Actually i won it at a work holiday party. I've always used a MP3 player before because i don't want to pay for my music
. (yeah say whatever you want). My question is, is there a way to put all my mp3 files onto the ipod? I don't want to HAVE to buy my music from iTunes . If not i'll just sell it on ebay or something. Is there any software that unlocks th eipod or something? Thanks

You dont have to buy stuff from iTunes to use iTunes. I have an Ipod and love it and iTunes is the best music organizer I have ever used. Even if you never buy a think from the iTunes store. Just drag and drop all your MP3 files into iTunes and then sync your Ipod and youre good to go. iTunes will auto sync everything in its library to your Ipod every time you connect it to your PC. I have bought a couple things from the iTunes store but most of my 10,000 songs I have in iTunes are all from CDs that I store bought over the years. I dumped nearly my entire music collection into iTunes. I also rip DVD movies and make them mp4's so my Ipod can play them when I travel. iTunes is great for finding podcasts too, I subscribe to two Mountain Biking Podcasts that are great and are video podcasts totally free.
Jordan You can also set your ipod to manual sync if you dont want to put your entire itunes library on your ipod. If its in manual mode than your ipod will show up in itunes and you just drag the files from itunes on to the ipod. you can also use the ipod as a storage device for anything like a hardrive. Back to the ipod question... you can put anything you want on an ipod. You don't have to "unlock" it. Heck, there are even third-party (ie. non-Apple) apps that will sync with the ipod and load music on it for you if you are really that Apple-averse.
I use an iPod and iTunes. I *have* bought music from the iTunes store. But most of my music is ripped off of my own CDs or d'loaded from other sources.

I'm still in Kuwait, I won a swift kick in the ass for our Christmas party
.No really I "won" a return ticket home. RSMLA, there is no way to transfer your music to your new IPOD; that being said I will take it off your hands for $40.00 stone cold cash! Ponch |

Can't believe it's "against the law" to do what you want with music you paid for. Silly.
