Default $6 and I'll change your tube too! Hell I'll do it for $5.

haha! Oh man. I just found this on craigslist. I feel like if you can't change your own tire you need to learn how and save your $6. or $30 - $50. hehe

http://orangecounty.craigslist.org/bik/878128981.html

You'll need to bring your own innertube or tires
6 Dollars for single(if you bring in your tubes/tires)
10 dollars for both wheels(if you bring in your tubes/tires)
Service + innertube + tires = 35-50 dollars(Depending on type of tire)
Service + innertube = 10-15 (one wheel)
Service + tire = 25-40(depending on which ever bike tire is)

You'll have to bring your bike to my garage

i can top that...last friday i was at a chain store with the initials performance bike, some guy in a beater comes in and asks, "how much to change a tube?"
the salesperson ringing up my new hitch rack doesnt flinch an eye and says $10 plus $6 for a new tube.

the guys says "OK do it"

by the way, my old rack is still up for grabs

at our shop it is $11.87 for a flat fix.
We supply the tube.
$11.87 is after the tax.

I dont think its a matter of laziness on why taking it to a LBS for a tire change, I think its more because some people dont have the tools or simply just not mechanicaly inclined to figure it out.

Its the LBS that is shamefully ripping off the customers is the problem. I for one would not return to any bike shop that I feel ripped me off because I am uninformed...

I dont know watching someone change tube on his DH bike I think 6 would be a bargain, between the rims and the thick DH tires.
