They look really good... which camera do you have? I had a Pentax W20, but flooded three of them surfing before the warranty ran out. I'd like to get one that is a little more robust.

Just remember when your talking about surfing the pressures are much different then just swimming. I killed a Sony waterproof and a friend killed an Olympus that had a waterproof case. They work good in small surf when you not going down hard but I would say 5' and bad wipeout you could kill one, thats how i killed mine.

Thanks, it's an Olympus 770SW. I was pretty amazed at how clear they came out.

If you guys go to http://dalybread.blogspot.com there are a TON of surfing photos used with the Olympus 770SW and the guy who runs the blog has tutorials and reviews about the camera.

The photos should help you see what you'll be getting with the camera, and he takes it out on a very regular basis.

I think I paid around 350 for it. It goes down to 30 feet. It's a great rugged camera. I bought for mountain biking. I've dropped it in mud and abused it pretty good and still holds up. This is actually the first time I've used it underwater.

Same camera I take on my rides and when I go snorkeling or kayaking. Underwater video is pretty cool too. Only problem I've found is that it doesn't float and will sink like a rock if you lose a grip on it.

Yeah I found that out the hard way. I dropped it and had to dive down to the bottom of the pool to retrieve it.

On my waterproof I use to put one of those big spongy flotation things for keys and stuff. I have to admit I stole this idea from a guy who took pics with a small waterproof camera in Hawaii for lessons.

I lost the vid....

How to make a waterproof camera (as done by naval types)

Supplies:
Cheapo digital camera
Wetsuit glue
2 clear condoms

Take cheapo camera and insert it into one condom. Tie a knot at the end of the condom and seal it with glue. Take the camera and condom and place it in the second condom, giving you two layers of water protection. As with the first condom, tie off the end and seal the knot with glue.

The only problem is then you have extra buoyancy for diving, I have been tethering my camera to my shorts with a thin string(so I can snap it if I had to bit otherwise it keeps it from falling)
