Just couldn't contain myself. My boss actually approved my trip to AU. We have a Engineering Co of about 150 people, 4 CAD departments. Last year the guy in my dept with a little more serinority then me couldn't go so they went to my desk but I was on a B-day vacation day so I didn't get to go. This year the same guy can go so I was bummed. Well I decided that I would put in my request anyway, and make them tell me know.

AWE some I get to go and was just wondering if there are any other CAD monkeys lurking around.

I use it a lot, but I'm no monkey or pro...I just do 2D wafer fab layouts etc with it. I need to send some guys who work for me to learn more so I can do it less! But I'd enjoy a class too...it seems it's always time to upgrade about when I get comfortable with the new toolbars and menus (yeah, I know, all the speedy guys use keyboard shortcuts...I just know some common ones). Have fun at ADU -- it's always nice to get away from the routine, get a free lunch, learn something new & get paid for it!

I'm not to shabby with Inventor, I like solidworks a little better though. Sounds pretty cool, you should have some fun.

yep, another CAD jockey here ... mostly ProE here with a sprinkling of AutoCAD for the legacy stuff.

Civil designer/drafter here too. Mostly AutoCAD Land Desktop with some Civil 3D (and a bit of land surveying). Fun stuff. Have'nt been to an Autodesk gig yet. Have fun.

If the traffic situation in the city of Corona is an indicator of your work...........The term should be changed over to "hostile plans" cuz thats how most people feel during commuting hours.... Nothing CIVIL about it.....

I'm a geologist currently paying the bills as a Civil designer using LDD 2005 (haven't made the leap to Civil 3D, yet). I went to AU last year, with the hope of making the transition to Civil 3D, and was blown away! 10,000 people and the entire event ran so smoothly! I had a couple of instructors that sucked, but the rest were top notch. Don't expect to spend to spend too much, if any, time with a mouse and keyboard in hand.

Only reason I became a CE student is because I have a good chance of landing a job through my godfather or other people I know. Pays to know people. I just need to start an internship and get my feet wet. I really wanted to become a Mechanical Engineer. Oh well...

I'm lazy. I would be buried under the workload and lord knows I can barley stand the amount of classes I have now.

Oh and chewy is only going to graduate first because I only decided I wanted to do CE after 3 wasted years at OCC. I did get my AA though
