Default new methhead neighbor update

Went into OSH today, spent $15.99 plus tax and got this to compliment my chain in the garage for my new teenage neighbors that recently moved in down the street.

After watching those YouTube videos
on how easy it is for thieves to snap off chain with a bolt cutter, might as well have 'em work harder for my bikes.

As a former victim, I suggest anyone (regardless of living deeply in the safety of the Orange curtain or in a secured community) to buy a cable lock for a bike that you store in the garage.

Does gated community, alarm in the garage and homeowner insurance work?

thieves are pretty brazen nowadays, gated community means having to hop a fence, alarm going off
will have ADT show up in 30 minutes so theres plenty of time, home owners insurance is nice but your rates may go up on reporting a $3000 bike, this $15.99 insurance policy aint bad

Just leave some small bags of crumbled up sugar cubes outside your garage, then they'll have no reason to go any further.

In the safety of Irvine had my bike stolen right out of my Garage. I stepped inside for 10 minutes to read the story of Beeks place right after my first ride up there.

Anything you can do to slow them down helps.

I once had a street bike stolen out of my garage in the middle of the night. The bike had an alarm, was chained to a work bench in a locked garage with two cars parked in front. Because of where the cars were parked they had to carry the bike over a brick planter.

I guess they just needed it more than I did.

Judging by the giant 15 in the middle of the label, I am guessing it is 15 feet.

I must be lucky. I leave my bike and front wheel on my Thule roof rack over night in my driveway.

I used to leave my bike in the back of my truck ,locked but after I found the cable mutilated twice and chasing down a bike stealing druggy thief, I decided to quit doing that. Also went out side and seen my bike completely out of my truck still locked to the inside.

Can you believe that would even happen out here in the IE?

Your insurance should not be effected to much if at all for reporting a stolen bike. I have done renters insurance claims for around that before and had no change in premiums.

I now lock up my Socom in my (locked) garage. I have been for a while but now it's all the time. I just have 1 and 1/2 bikes. This is good advice for people; LOCK YOUR FREAKIN' BIKES UP!
